i forget...what's it like?
i may get flamed for this but w/e...
I remember back 2 years ago II ate whatever I wanted and it was no big deal...id come home from school, were i ate bagel bites for lunch would plop in front of the computer, grab a bowl or 2 of chocolate coverd rasins or waffles topped with strawberries in whiped cream. If I were to eat those things now Id literaly be an orgasm in my mouth... I would go out to reastuarnts all the time and order burgers...big jucy burgers smotherd in ketchup...I would wait in anxiously for the waiter to come and when he/she was in site carring my burger I would get chills or jumps of joy. I was so happy. However its not like that anymore... I havent had my favorite food (big juicy burger) in mabee a year or so, and even if I was to have one, as stupid as it is (i kno its dumb) I would feel to guilty to enjoy it. I always loved food but I was chubby and tierd of taking **** from everyone (especialy my friends). so i started dieting and eating right and now I have abs..and stuff but I miss eating good food. whenever i go out to eat now all i can order is some chicken dish or some fish dish...and it sux, especialy cuz every1 in my family eats like ****, they just dont eat alot so there not fat. My buff freinds eat **** like theres not 2moro and im just sick of it all. I havent purposly cheated in idk 9 months... Is this whole eating healthy worth it? I workout now and didnt back when life suked... should I just eat like a normal teenager and live life...I mean damn how do u guys eat health all the time?

When you get the taste for crappy foods out of your system, you don't feel "deprived" by not eating them. Eating "healthily" is just normal for you.

its your choice really, the few minutes of enjoyment you have while eating food and the constant dissatisfication(i may have just invented that word) with yourself or not enjoy eating as much but have that happy feeling everytime you pass a mirror
healthy food doesn't have to taste like crap, be resourceful when my sweet tooth is killing me good ol' cookies and cream muscle milk takes care of that. Cheating isn't always bad when done correctly it can be beneficial. Remember this is all about moderation, a burger a month isn't going to steal your abs. More effort in the kitchen=more enjoyment in the meal

^That's right. I know, you have friends who drink soda, eat pizza, and are still the same size as you. Give it time, they can only get so far with that diet, and soon you'll surpass them. While the whole time being better off. Its better to develop healthy eating habits at a young age, so you don't end up fat and unhealthy like most of your friends will, when they realize they can't eat that **** anymore but don't like eating healthy.
In other words, you suck it up, and pull though. In a year or so, you'll look three times better then them, and when you're older you'll still look good. Whereas, when your "buff" friends get older they'll be fat and unhealthy, and get bring them selfs to life a healthy lifestyle. They'll become just like every other unhealthy fat American.

It's a choice we all have 2 make . . .
BabyBodybuilder is right, either u can give in 2 the short-term pleasures of eating the crap u used 2 eat as a "normal teenager" & suffer the inevitable long-term consequences of man-boobs, love handles & health issues later . . . OR u can start eating right at a young age & b way ahead of the game, looking good & feeling gr8.

Yeah, but by this point. I know you would only feel like **** after eating it. In other words, their's no reason to have your cake if you're not going to enjoy it.

i know what you mean 100% but i do whats best for me now, plus healthy foods taste amazing to me.
Everyone says to me tho why don't i eat like a normal person(chips, candy, soda, bread) It really pisses me off when they say that. How is that normal 1000 years ago people werent eating that crap and obesity was only for the wealthy.I hate when people say eat some bread with pasta and sauce.
Were the hells the protein arg!

There was another thread kind of like this, and someone, I don't remember who, gave a reply that the problem with most people is that they don't "know" food. You like burgers? I gaurantee you I can grill you a squeeky clean bison or lean beef burger that tastes every bit as good as what you were eating at that restaurant with low fat cheese and Heinz 1 Ketchup on a whole wheat sesame seed bun and whatever toppings you want. I eat extremely clean, and some of the stuff I make tastes so good that I feel kind of decadent.
You don't have to feel deprived, I promise. Learn your sh*t when it comes to preparing food, and you'll have no trouble keeping sane.

I actually kind of think about that every day, especially because I see that we are both still "young". A lot of times you need to weigh out what is more important. Eating those junk foods can give you partial pleasure... Sure for those about 10-20 seconds that you spend chewing on pizza and stuffing doughnuts into your mouth might satisfy you then but isn't overall health so much more important? Wouldn't you rather spend the other 23 hours in your day feeling good about the body that you live in instead of wishing you had a better one?
But at the same time, life is short and food is a natural pleasure of a human being so don't be afraid to let yourself indulge once in a while (as control is key).

That's the problem with most BBers here. They don't know how to cook. All that bland food usually leads them to an endless perpetual cicle of cutting and binging. I spend more time in the kitchen, than I do doing anything else after my 12hr shift making sure that my healthy food tastes awesome. But let's not BS ourselves, sodium is what brings out the flavor in food, even sweets. And the reason I say that is because most posters here neglect sodium for fear that they might lose their abs due to water retention. If you're active enough, I say screw it and enjoy your table salt.

I dunno... Isn't a healthy state a mind also beneficial to an overall healthy lifestyle? Some people just can't let go of that doughnut, icercream or whatever. Enjoy it, just in moderation - or if you can find a healthier alternative, do that instead.

i live off of chicken eggs oatmeal and i have no problem with it
i dont think i could force myself to live off of processed microwave food and other junk. its all about mentality
don't get me wrong, i love sweets but note the keyword "live off of".. theres nothing wrong with having a little ice cream, cookies, or whatever every now and then

Not sure I really agree about the sodium thing, not that I think there's anything wrong with it; I just don't have much taste for salt.
But man, you should see my spice rack.
