When desire alone is not enough motivation
how do you guys keep going?
Lately I have been real lethargic, unmotivated, and almost sulking.
Not depressed at all, just unmotivated.
I rescued a dog an her pups a few months back and have been taking care of them. Takes a lot of time and energy, and as a results I have drasticly cut my program in half. The raising of these pups has my schedule all messed up so my w/o partner and I only meet once a week if that.
The other times I can hardly find the energy to drive to the gym let alone stay for longer than 20 minutes.
So, when desire alone is not enough, what do you do?

This sounds lame, but a lot of times I'll log onto Youtube and check out some workout videos. Try to psych myself up to workout. I don't have to do this often, but it does happen.

Quite simply, because I can't stop.
I can't.
I can't just eat crappy food. I will always think of how much better and more I could've ate, and how it would've helped.
I can't just not work out because I simply don't feel like it. I will think of how much weaker I am going to get and how I really don't have much room to spare in the size department.
You can't stop. Don't.

you may of overtrained or need change in your workouts.
take a few days off and then try a new style of workout with new exercises, intensity and sets/reps. Felt like that today doing back for some reason, over-trained abit this week and stressed central nervous system.

My thoughts exactly! Plus, the gym also gets all my stress away and everything. I love going there, it's not something I force myself into.

I keep a picture of Mr. Aries, Julien Greaux, Evan Presciano, and Dexter Jackson in my wallet. All in one big collage. So whenever I lift I tape it to the mirror in the gym wherever I am. But I always end up...
....wait what?
nothing.
