Hit up the bars by the beach. Don't waste your money at Universal. Go to Six Flags or Disney..a lot better time. Hit up Hollywood and go to some of the bars out there.

I moved here from Aliso Viejo which is about 6 miles from Laguna. There is plenty to do downtown Laguna Beach. The beaches are awesome, if you want some nightlife, head to Newport Beach or Huntington Beach. You'll find plenty of places to drink. Stay away from the tourist things like disneyland or knotts berry farm, unless you are into that stuff. You might want to check out Venice (muscle) Beach which is a little further north (L.A. area). IF you are heading up to L.A. then definitely hit hollywood, there's plenty o' cool bars. Check out Sunset Strip ( http://www.pubclub.com/losangeles/sunsetstrip.htm).
Just depends on what you want to do...
You going alone, with friends, or to visit family?

Catalina is a pretty nice place.
Good seafood joint on the shore, forget the name (I imagine there are several).

Hit the beaches (people watch), rent bikes/roller blades. Drive to downtown Laguna, let her window shop, go into some of the small art galleries, chicks dig that... drive up and down Pacific Coast Highway, head south to San Diego, eat at the Chart House (downtown San Diego, on the water). If you want to go north, head to the Aquarium of the Pacific ( http://www.aquariumofpacific.org/), head to Seal Beach/Los Alamitos and eat at the Los Alamitos Fish Company. There's also some good malls, go to Fashion Island (Newport Beach)...
Age doesn't matter in SoCal. Have fun and let us know how it turns out...
