inbf puts on a horrible show. mr. reno
It was a good experience had fun, took 1st in novice and 4th in open. Had fun but wow was it poorly run and everyone i talked to after had nothing but bad things to say about how it was run.. First off it cost 105$ to compete in the 2 classes then another 50$ for the drug test and another 60$ for membership card. wow what a waste of money. but yeah its an expensive hobby so whatever. well the trophies are just cheap pieces of plastic and dont even have your name engraved on them, and you cant tell they where for a bodybuilding show by looking at them. They did have small bottles of water and snacks for us. only 1$ each... bah so then the night show they told us to be there at 5:30pm, night show started at 6. around 7:45 the first athlete took the stage, they had some bullsh*t karate show that was also run poorly and was very bad and not entertaining at all from what i heard. by this time we where outside in the back of the highschool with the sun now down all standing out almost naked being told that where almost up. finaly onstage they fuked up my class in the pre-judging so we had to redo prejudging. the lighting on stage was horrible the sound system sounded like all the speakers where blown and the overweight women announcer that looked like shes never stepped foot in a gym in her life kept turning it up making it sound worse. anyway long story not any longer for as much money as they charged the athletes and the 45$ they charged to watch, they could have gotten a half way decent venue. and put some effort into it. It seemed like they where just putting it on to make a quick buck. my freinds and family that have never been to a show before had nothing good to say about it and my freinds that have been to alot of shows had nothing good to say about it. also for only being around 20 people competing i left at 9:30pm and there where still people doing posing routines..

$45 to watch! Most I have ever paid for a seat (other then VIP package) is $30. And the show started on time, and ran long. So the cost was acceptable.
While some shows are poorly run, from what you have written this warrants a letter to INBF outlining the problems. Their regional rep has to be informed that this promoter is not doing their job for INBF, the competitors or the fans.

I attended an INBF show in Madison, WI back in 2004 and it was very professionally run. I think it's more due to the promoter than to the federation. But I agree that you should complain to the INBF so they can look into the matter.

Man that does sound awful...
We have some good shows in TN, however the State Show seems to be the poorest ran one. Show I just did was great down to guest poser being shape and all.

First, congrats on placing first in novice and fourth in open! That's great!
Second, what a train wreck of a show. That was WAY more than I paid for my INBF show. I paid $35 for a membership card, $42.50 to compete in novice, the drug test was included, spectators paid $15 for prejudging and $20 for night show. The show ran like clockwork. My trophy didn't have my name on it but it was a nice Atlas trophy that my friends and I were impressed with.

The Mr. Reno Show was an INBA show, not INBF. The two organizations are completely unrelated.

Also i have never saw a bb show put the competitors names on the trophy bud.
Thats of matter of a few hours between prejudging and the night show, you know how much trouble and the price on indviudal trophies would be?

My two cents. Visit njnpc.org and click on the "natural bodybuilding" link.

Also i have never seen the name on it , but as far as having them engraved i can say at ATA karate tournaments they have an engraver there takes 5 minutes and cost 5 bucks.
I also don't understand why they don't serve adult drinks to the audience , it boost sales , and everyone has a good time.
It seems they just don't want to hit it big , few shirts , just a couple booths at best , maybe a guest poser.
Just saying from my little experiance with shows there could be so much more fun and things added to it , and it's been this way for how long? Time for them to up the anny.
