Funny 100m hurdling race...
2 min ago I was just watching the men's 100m hurdlers qualifying round live, and saw the Canadian athlete, he's a short guy, and during his run, he managed to knock down 8 out of the 10 hurdles, and still managed to finish second, and almost catch up to first! I was laughting my ass off when I saw the replay, seeing him knocking down practically everything he sees and still qualifies easily... Looks like knocking things down is the only way he could pass through those high things... If you can't jump over them, knock them down.

you dont get penalized time if you knock them down? it still counts???

of course. you can be disqualified if you if an official decides you weren't attempting to clear the hurdle, but the only penalties for smashing hurdles are a slower time and a bloody ankle.

Oh man, don't even get me started! The Canadian wheelchair athlete won Gold three or four days ago in the wheelchair race demo event at the Olympics!! From now on, let Canada be known as a WHEELCHAIR NATION!! I look forward to the day where I can represent my country with pride in a wheelchair. As a matter of fact, I'm going to buy a wheelchair and start my training now.

As long as you attempt to jump them, you can knock down as many as you want. It's no advantage though.
