Music and lifting more/pushing yourself harder?
If all your favorite music was played at full blast in your gym, do you think you will have a better lifting day? Does music affect a workout?
I seem to push myself harder when i have my ipod pumping my Hardstyle And trance.

I tend to have more energy when rock and techno is on than when nothing is playing.

There have been studies done on this. Those who listen to music have significantly more energy, allowing more reps to be completed than those who aren't listening to music. I've seen this study done in numerous research magazines. There was one in MnF recently that said something about it.

I dont use my ipod until my last 2 sets
I turn on some cosmic gate or rob zombie and I can always pump out more reps then previous even with heavier weight. I need some new headphones though, got small ears and they keep falling out

Absolutely!
That is another reason why a dungeon powerlfting gym owns commercial gyms. We crank Hatebreed, Slipknot or just whatever we want.

Aww man Hatebreed gets me pumped UP!!! If I work out to them, Slayer, Pantera, Job For A Cowboy, or any other hard bands then I'll usually get alot stronger. Aggressive music tends to make my adrenaline pump, therefore increasing strength and energy =]

I can never work out as intensely without my mp3 player. Nothing motivates me more than loud music.

I always blare rammstein down my IPOD and pump myself up before a set,i just get real angry and then take it out on the weights.
Music has a huge effect on your ability to move weight.

Hell yeah music gets an extra rep out of me, the ultimate motivator and blocks out everything except the job at hand, lifting.

I can't stand listening to music through headphones, but if i'm working out at home i get the stereo blastin, n at the gym they play metal most of the time, rob zombie, rammstein etc. So it's all good.
