Jack LaLanne amazing feats!!
This info collected from other sources not my own.
Jack LaLanne
Age 40 Swam the length of the San Francisco Golden Gate Bridge underwater with 140 pounds of equipment, including two air tanks...an undisputed world record.
Age 41 Swam from Alcatraz to Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco wearing handcuffs.
Age 42 Set a record of 1.033 pushups in 23 minutes on "You Asked For It" TV show with Art Baker.
Age 43 Swam the treacherous Golden Gate Channel, towing a 2500-pound cabin cruiser. This involved fighting the cold, swift ocean currents that made the one-mile swim a six and one half- mile test of strength and endurance.
Age 44 Maneuvered a paddleboard 30 miles, nine and one half-hours non-stop from the Farallon Islands to the San Francisco Shore.
Age 45 Completed 1,000 pushups and 1,000 chin-ups in one hour and twenty-two minutes.
Age 60 Swam from Alcatraz Island to Fisherman's Wharf, handcuffed, shackled, and towing a 1,000-pound boat.
Age 61 Swam the length of the Golden Gate underwater handcuffed, shackled, and towing a 2,000-pound boat against the treacherous tides.
Age 62 Commemorating the "Spirit of '76," swam one mile in Long Beach Harbor, handcuffed, shackled, and towing 13 boats (representing the 13 original colonies) containing 76 people.
Age 65 In Lake Ashinoke, Tokyo, Japan, handcuffed and shackled, towed 65 boats filled with 6,500 pounds of Louisiana Pacific wood pulp.
Age 66 In North Miami, Florida, towed 10 boats filled with 77 people for over a mile in less than one hour.
Age 70 Handcuffed, shackled, and fighting strong winds and currents, towed 70 boats with 70 people from Queen's Way Bridge in the Long Beach harbor to the Queen Mary, 1 1/2 miles.
Jack is 90 years old now and still works out.

Jack LaLanne, at almost 90, is stronger and more fit than the average college athlete.
Mr. LaLanne has had single digit bodyfat for longer than most people have been alive, but he has not done so at the cost of a strong body.
He's not stooped over and hardly able to breathe, as are most men his age.
Mr. LaLanne says, "If man makes it, I don't eat it."
He sticks with foods that are as close to natural as possible--that doesn't mean "organic," that means unprocessed. This dietary principle is more important than all the others. Follow it as closely as you can.
It helps to supplement your diet with nutritious meal replacement systems and protein supplements. Why? Because these contain nutrients normally missing in the typical diet. You just have to make sure you buy quality.

Cool! The pics are great! I watched the Jack Lalanne Show on television just last week. I can't remember on which channel they were running the show, but it was from the 1950s, I believe. I enjoyed it -- he just said a lot of common sense things about staying healthy. No gimmicks needed.
He also was showing how to do certain floor exercises and I was getting tired watching him.

LaLanne is a great guy. Compared to the infomercial goofs (i.e. Tony Little) he's a man among men.

Wow...those are some amazing feats. Thanks for the factoida PQ.
But, what's with the shackling and handcuffing...it's a difficult enough task to do the things that he did without being bound...you're a full-on freaky deek, Mr. LaLanne!!!
I'm having a hard time recalling if it was his ads that were in the comic books that I used to read.

I wonder if this is any representation of what goes on in his house?!?? Is Angela Jolie his neighbor by chance?

Joe Jagger is known as the English Jack LaLanne,
he is 92 years old and rumour has it still active and quite healthy.
You may have heard of his son Mick Jagger!
Maybe i or someone else can get info on Joe Jagger.

Personally I wouldn't say he's in the same class as Jack LaLanne but for being in his 90's I guess he gets around Looks a bit cartoonish to me though. lol

ESPN2 runs the shows in the morning. I think it's 6am Central. My 18 Month old loves the show. It's the only thing on TV that she even pays attention to.
