Fried Rice
I just made my first attempt at it.. it tasted pretty good, so thats not what I'm worried about. I put onions, Carrots, ham (lean), egg whites, and rice. then i put orange and lemon juice with about 3/4 tbsp of hotsauce. I put about 1.5 tablespoons of oil and used no calorie cooking spray.
Is this healthy? or would this be considered cheating.
sorry if its a stupid post

I read somewhere that yes saturated fats are bad for you but in small amounts help raise and maintain testosterone levels

Fried Rice - Now this is one of those foods that annoys me. In principle its okely dokely. However, it is NEVER EVER as good as from the local Chinese takeaway. Same with curry. Found loads of recipes for healthy curries. It aint as good as a Lamb Methi from the India Chef in Crookes in Sheffield, UK. Had to put that in cos if you ever get the opportunity - GO THERE.
I'm a bit passionate at the moment cos I just ate one for my Saturday night cheat meal. Aaaaah Saturday night!!!!!

Not all oil is high in saturated fats. Canola Oils is one example. In one tablespoon there is around 14g of fat, only 1 of which is saturated fat. Olive oil is good too. You just don't want to use these in excess.

try to get a 1/2 tablespoon of flax or olive oil in a day for good fats.. never hurts.. also some PB..
everyone should have at least 2-3 meals with fat in them a day to come close to their macro's

This is exactly why I love the fact that one of my roommates this summer and next semester is South Vietnamese. I'll have their cuisine down pat by the time he leaves in the winter.

Yeah man, saturated fat isn't bad for you in small amounts, just don't consume a ton of it, it does help with testosterone. If you were to cut saturated fat completely out of your diet your testosterone level would drop.

Nope. Quoting Layne

Actually you only need EFA's, your body will manufacture the rest. You won't be very healthy leaving out fat, but in times of starvation the body can adapt. To be healthy and grow saturated fat is extrememly important, as well as mono's/poly's. Hopefully the hypothesis of low fat has finally sunk into this group we have here, and don't fall for this easy buy in theory, that' fats are bad.

Here's a version that I make and love. Of course it doesn't taste just like the restaurants, but it's really good imo.
2 c. water with 1 T. soy sauce, 3 t. freshly minced garlic and 1 chicken bouillen cube added to water-bring to a rapid boil, dissolving the cube. Add 11/2 c. long grain white rice(you could probably substitute brown rice). Turn heat down to med-low and simmer for 25 minutes.
Meanwhile, stir fry chopped carrot, onion and green pepper in 1-2 T. oil. Add a T. of water and cover to make sure veggies are soft. Remove from pan.
Scramble 4 eggs in wok with black pepper until done, then add vegies back in. Combine cooked rice in with the mix and let simmer on low for about 10 minutes to combine tastes.
You can add ham or any type of stir-fry meat you like to it and it's delicious. Add more soy sauce if you want more taste, but I don't to keep sodium levels down.
