car audio - headunit deh-p8600mp
whats up guys i got a deh-p8600mp in my car. the other day i was screwing it into the dash kit. i got the screws in fine but it has a motorized face plate. and after i screwed the screws it the faceplate wont come down the whole way and it wont eject the cd. anyone good wit this stuff and have an idea what the hell happened. i cant even change the cd now... stupid motorized face plate. i checked the owners manual and it says nothing on manualy ejecting a cd.
any ideas or help will be greatly appreciated. id rep but i got **** haha

Pull power off of it and then plug it back in. If there is nothing blocking the way then you have a defective unit and should take it back. It's not very often that this happens with a Pioneer unit, but it is possible..

ive had the radio for like 2 years. just put it into a different car. the radio powers on fine and works fine. its just the motor that doesnt work. i will try the unplugging and plugging it back in though, thanks.
any other ideas?

maybe u screwed it too tight if this is possible/?? and it stops the faceplat from coming down

Powering it off will erase the memory and hopefully give you a fresh start. If the screws are really tight then loosen them slightly. Usually you don't have to worry about having it extremely tight, as long as it doesn't fall out while mounted.

Is the faceplate completely secured to the motor assembly?.

nevermind, its official i suck, i opened up the top and it and the screws ****ed with the pieces that connect the motor to the faceplate. i played with it a little and got it to open and eject the cd but now its always open and cant close. oh well...
... one "like new" radio for sale. anyone? 100 bucks shipped! lol
