Reporting my teacher (serious)(Collin)(Reps)
Guys tell me what I can possibly do in this situation, im hoping for a change of grade, or better yet the grade to be completely dropped. Heres the problem
From the beginning of the Semester this teacher hardly acknowledged me or anyone else really in the class accept for some kiss-ass people. On the first test I got a 100 percent, second test a 79, and third test an 85, and the final I got an 80. I missed 2 homeworks and one because I was sick, and I had a doctors note.
I also had a speech due, which I forgot my due date, so she wouldnt accept it late, and I had to hand my book report which I did. So for this paper I got a 50.
Now I was early to the class every day, attentive, and I participated.
Over the course of the semester I had several little discrepancy's with the teacher. One time I saw her in the "Career Development Center" which is basically a tutor lounge for students, and I asked to speak to her, and she immediately said to me (while not looking at my face) you can only talk to me at my office hours. Then I would ask her if I could make up my homework and if there was any way of redeeming myself of those lost points and she would simply reply "This is not high school".
So I realized she deosnt accept late work, however one day after class a fellow classmate of mine gave her LATE homework, and her excuse was a doctors note. Now I had a doctors note for my homework and the teacher still did not accept it... I questioned her and she just simply ignored me and walked away.
Now there are a bunch more things, like the teacher being consistently late every single day 10-15 minutes, and her way of completely shutting you out and not allowing a question. But i wont go into those right now
Waiting for my grade for the class I knew she wasnt going to give me a B but I was expecting a C or even maybe a B-. I look at my transcript.. and its a F
I wrote a letter to the dean, and my dad is meeting them asap.
anyone have any other advice on what I can and cannot do to make this grade go away? and maybe even penalize this professor. Thanx

if the professor has tenure, probably nothing you (or the dean) can really do
see if your college allows grade replacement (i know more than a few do)
retake the class WITH A DIFFERENT PROFESSOR AFTER RESEARCHING WHO TO TAKE, get a decent grade, and it replaces the old one
most schools that allow this will only allow it a few times (once or twice prob) during your college tenure

the problem is im transferring schools this is why my grade is so important, that F can mean that the university im applying to will not accept me.

Since he got an F, he now feels as though the professor was a bad professor and wants to get her fired. Had he gotten a B, he'd have walked away happy.

To the OP...
At most universities/colleges they have a set of rules that the professor has to adhere to. Typically, they require each professor to hand out a class syllabus that outlines the material to be covered and the grading policy.
Did your professor hand out anything that outlined how your final grade would be calculated?
I've had classes where, for every assignment you've missed they lower your final grade a whole letter. Missing two HW assignments would drop your C to an F. If it's outlined in the syllabus, and following those rules, you end up with an F - then there is nothing you can do. Retake the class.
If she did explain the rules for grades, and using her rules you should have gotten a B or a C or even a D - then you should go and talk to the Dean. Explain it simply - say 'Here is how she calculates the grades, here are my grades - it should be a B, but it is an F'. They will change it, very quickly.
But without knowing her grading policy, nobody here can tell if you are getting screwed or not. I took a Communications class where we had weekly tests that only accounted for 15% of your grade, and the big speech at the end was the other 85%. You could have 100% on the exams but bomb the speech and fail.

normally i'd agree with your opinion because i feel your grades are a projection of your efforts, but if this guy is telling the truth it sounds like there has been a severe error in grades. Unless the thing he missed was 50% of his grade, it doesn't make sense that he would get an F when he was averaging a C or B.

That's the thing - the guy didn't say anything about the grading policy. Every class I took, post-high school, spelled out how the final grade would be determined.
