First.... 'Sugar' isn't bad for you.... 'Sugar' is found in a lot of GOOD foods... For example - the majority of the calories found in all your vegetables are sugar cals... same as in fruits.. And even foods people consider 'healthy' have sugars in them - eg: sweet tato has 'sugar' in it (which is why it tastes sweet.. where as regular tato doesn't have as much - it is much more starch based)...
And just so you know - TABLE SUGAR doesn't spike your blood sugar that much [it has a GI of ~ 55..]. It is half fructose - which doesn't raise blood glucose [as it is absorbed as fructose across the intestinal lining which is not measured as 'blood sugar'...].

And, on this note, galactose (half of the sugars from milk - after lactose is cleaved into glucose and galactose) will not 'spike blood sugar' either - which is why milk has a low GI.... (however - the insulin response created is markedly different...) so GI/ blood sugar spiking means... well... nothing.
And glucose will 'spike' your blood sugar only in proportion to the amount you eat.... 5g (1 tsp) is not going to 'spike' anything... it will simply be a 'base line blip'....
And... well... Sugar doesn't 'rot your teeth' either - bad hygiene will do that... if you don't look after your self (brush, floss etc) then you can 'not eat sugar' and still have nasty teeth.
Just like thinking in terms of "all alcohol will distroy your liver" - just blanketing "sugar" as evil is silly and has no relation to the real world. Sugars DO have a place in your diet - and they should not be seen as something you have to 'avoid at all cost'.... Fruits, vegetables and dairy are all nutrient dense and can offer you a lot of good things if eaten in sensible quantities.
Additionally - a little 'something sweet' [eg: dark chocolate] is ok in moderation..... Everything could have a place if you wanted to 'fit it in'. So bring it back into context - what you are eating, your general lifestyle and how you feed/ fuel your body.
