I can't techiniquely relate BUT I live with my sister who holds down a full time job AND has 2 kids. Thankfully she has my mom to watch the kids during the day(she's divorced and moved back home). She is also very upset about the way she looks(even tho shes like 5 7 130 someodd pounds like yourself) which i think she looks good for her age (36) but it is EXTREMELY difficult to make things work at this point and time in your life. My only advice would be if your a mourning person...try to hit the gym b4 work OR if your not then try and have your hubby watch the kids at night and join a 24 hour gym in the area. It is tuff and every time i tell my sis this its difficult for her to understand but sacrifices need to be made to have the physique you desire. you can have that 10 body but like you previously stated its not easy and you need a lot of determination. all in all think of it this way. its 3x a week for about 60-75 mins for certain routines. wish i could help but i sympathize with you.

You have to be realistic with your goals and what you can reasonably accomplish with your life/time/schedule. Sure you have to "make time" for working out, but some pros (male and female) spend hours training, doing cardio, posing, tanning, etc. Most average people don't have the time for that.
With good diet (even just eating clean foods) and about 45 minutes a day of exercise (weight training and cardio alternating days (or similar)) you can achieve very respectable results.
You also have to consider what your support system (mate, family, friends) will support. For example, in my case, I would like to cut down to sub 10% bf, but I have to consider the opinion of my wife who feels that she is not ready for that look on me yet. So I change my goals to slowly recomposition my body and maybe in time, I'll get there.

It sounds like you need to undergo a mental and emotional change along with your physical change. It's easy to get bogged down, but if you really sit down and make a schedule, you can fit everything in. This past semester I went to school full time and worked two jobs while training 6 days a week. Yes I was tired at times, yes I was rushed at times, yes I was stressed. But the payoff of watching my body change was totally worth it. It's very possible, despite the fact that the thought of fitting everything in is overwhelming.
Also, the statement "i will not make my sexy muscular husband drool over my body the way he does the other success stories on here" concerns me. You should know that your husband loves you and finds you sexy and appealing no matter how you look, because you're his wife. This is a negative and defeatist attitude! You can absolutely make your husband drool over you even more!
You can be a 10, but it's a mental battle more than a physical one. Too many people are already 10's, but have such severe body dysmorphia that they're consistently only 7's to themselves. For you to be a 'happy 9', you have to get there mentally, or in your eyes you'll never get there physically.

One thing I noticed
I fell into this trap when I started in Aug was trying to do what everyone out here says is right. You are spot on that everyone out here does it different and you have to find one way and stick to it for a while. I was lifting 5 days a week working full time (I have 3 kids as well) and trying to do cardio 6 days a week. I was losing a lot of weight but almost lost my wife in the process.
For the last 2 months I have been just keeping track of what I eat on fitday. Keeping fat under 30% and cals under 3500 (I am in the 400s) and my workout routine has been counting steps with a pedometer as I go through the day. I have lost 10 lbs in 6 weeks. Its slower then I was losing it but I have fit it to my life which makes everyone in my life happier.
For next week I will be adding to my workouts playing the Wii with my son for and hour a day. Whatever you can take from people out here and fit to your life and make it work do it. One thing at a time and stick with it and you will slowly see sucess and then you will know what is for you and what is not.
Try drinking a little more water and walking a couple hundred steps and build on that but if you keep switching from article to article you will never do anything long enough to see the results.
As for the husband I am sure he finds you plenty attractive, you may not realize just how attractive he finds you. You don't have to try and be like a body builder just work on you for you and you will feel much better about your self and your husband will find that attractive. Keep your head up you are not alone out here.

You remind me so much of my fiancee, because she has the same view about bodybuilding that you do.
I understand that you are busy and everything. Heck, who is not.But remember this : your health should be priority.
If you are not healthy, who will take care of your kids when you are sick?
If you are not healthy, will you still be able to work?
I am saying, people give lots of reason why they cannot workout or reach that ideal body, and I was one of them, but they forgot what really matters.
I got into the pattern of putting work first and not going to the gym.
Guess what, if I was to drop dead tomorow they would take 1 week or less to replace me.
So yes, I am going to go to the gym and I am making time for it.

when it comes to losing weight/fat and being fit i don't think anyone can say "don't do cardio", if you get confused about what people say then just take what you want to believe and put it into action because diffrent things work for diffrent people

I find it ironic that your motto is 'with God anything is possible'
Why did you write this if its not waht your believe?
I think you should talk to your husband and get hid full support.
Then you can achieve your goals and improve your marriage!

Just had a look at your pics and I don't know what you're worried about.
Your body looks great !!!!
It's a tough and long road to get to what some people might consider a "10". But if you want it ... you can do it. At the end of the day, just work on being healthy and happy. Thats the main thing.

I dont know what you mean by a 10...is leaner better?
I dont find leaner women necessarily more attractive...somehow this notion got stuck int he heads of many younger white famles in America...
And thats why alot of men now prefer latinas quite frankly.
I dont want a hard women laying in bed next to me....that would fel like a boy to me.
I have however come to terms that I am probably never gonna be under 10% in bdyfat...but at 12% with my size and musculature I can still be a 10(top 10% of humanity looks wise) in my own opinion...
Beauty as always is in the eye of the beholder.

Yes, there is a lot of info on this site. A lot of it isn't necessarily geared towards fat loss. You need to read the stuff which best pertains to your goals. Even then, yes, there can be conflicting viewpoints, which is why you should read the articles more than the forums. Here is a link to ALL the nutritional articles on the BB.com main site:
http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/bbmainnut.htm
Lots of great info there on diet plans, nutrition myths, etc. As for cardio, if you read not to do cardio, chances are good you were reading info not pertaining to losing fat. Cardio is a must for me to lose fat.

With your defeatist attitude you will not achieve any of the goals listed above. One thing I have learned is that I am doing my body transformation for myself, and nobody else. I am determined to get in the best shape of my life and have been at it for 13 months now, and have some way to go yet, but I am determined to be there by this time next year. I have already made an incredible change in my life, and theoretically, I am already in the best shape of my life right now, but I have a goal in mind to reach.
I am doing this despite being a stay-at-home dad of a special needs boy who has what is classified as a catastrophic epilepsy. I also do the chores, the shopping, and all the stuff which goes along with a special needs child: countless doctors visits, daily seizure logs to fill in, billing issues, school issues, etc. Bottom line: YOU can do it, you just have to be creative and not look upon getting in shape as just another chore.

Something I see that people need to remember is that the term "bodybuilding" is not just about becoming the next Arnold or Jay or Kendra or any other female BB or fitness pro, it is about building one's body. The dictionary has bodybuilding listed as:

Again...You can achieve whatever you want to achieve, but you need to do it for yourself. It takes time, patience, and creative planning for parents to do this, but it is worth every minute, imo. I wish you the best on reaching your goals.

I totally understand what you are going through. Being a stay at home dad has been the toughest job I have ever had, and I have worked construction, mowed lawns, been a cop, and so on.
That being said, you have to make time to workout. You are right, unless you have a babysitter, there are no lunch breaks, sick days, or vacation days. It is quite stressful. Maybe you need to sit down with your bodybuilder husband and discuss him taking care of the kids on a regular basis (an hour or so a day for four days a week is not too much to ask) so that you can devote time to your health like he does.
You are right about it being possible through and with God. You look good already. If you have goals to tighten up or improve your health that is great. You can do it.

Sorry i didn't read all the replies as i'm at work and they're all a little long winded but If you're only after toning up what about investing in some home equipment like:
Treadmill - do 30 mins while you're kids watch tv
dumbbells for lunges, chest presses, shoulder presses, arms, etc
ab roller for abs
medicine ball for situps, pushups, etc
leg weights which you can use to tighten up your legs by wearing them when you clean, etc.
Apart from the treadmill they're all really cheap to buy and you can incorporate them into your day. 15 mins here, 15 mins there....
Don't give up and at the end of the day beauty isn't only skin deep!!!
Regards,
Chris

Weight loss is a simple concept, being motivated to make the changes to your lifestyle to allow u to lose weight and sticking to the diet is the hard part.
Take in less calories than your body requires and do some cardio equals weightloss.
Sure there all fancy methods people say which are better and faster at losing weight ubt if you follow the above rule you cant not lose weight
