Make-shift T Bar Row?

Anyone have a technique they want to share on how to set up a make-shift T bar row when your gym doesn't have one?

I've tried just putting a barbell into a corner so it doesn't move and rowing with my hands on the other end of the barbell or balancing a lat pulldown bar around it. But the weight on the end of the barbell hits me in the chest before I can row the weight all the way up to do a full range of motion.

How can I set up the barbell to row w/o the weight hitting me in the chest? I guess could try to load a bunch of 25's instead of 45s since the plate wouldn't be as tall?

um.. yea. that's been long known.. it's simply called corner rows. and yes, putting 25s on rather than 45s helps. it's what frank zane long recommended although many people disagreed with him because they couldnt pile on as much weight

Bent over rows are different from t-bar rows.

like brighteyes said do the rows in the corner, usualy most people will take the close grip seated row handle to row with. this is good personally since i jsut started lifting at home iw anted a tbar, instead of paying for a actualy t bar i bought this http://www.bigfitness.com/bolatblbar.html just slide it on the end and either buy the platform to put the other end of the bar in or just do corner rows you be fine either way. i know your lifting in the gym but if u wanna buy that it will be like a real tbar. i can put it on in a second just slide it on and screw with your hand. yeah u would have to take that to the gym everytime so its proly just beter to use a seated row handle like most people
