im 6'5 338 lbs and i need to lose fat!!!!

hi first let me introduce myself. My name is James and I'm a 24 year old music producer living in NYC area. Right now I am 6'5 338lbs , i have been eating extremly healthy(i think) and running 2 miles a day for the last month and i have lost a considerable amount of wieght, aproximatly 35lbs!! I am going to south beach in July and i realy want to get down to my goal weight of 300lbs. I have been at 338 for about a week now and i am wondering if i will be able to lose 38 more lbs by july. I am a big boned guy and i dont really look fat for being 338lbs most people think i wiegh like 260 and i just laugh. so im also wondering if i can be in the end 290lbs and be cut. i have this electronic scale that says my body fat is 36% but to me this just really seems incorrect because i dont feel that i have 65lbs to lose before i am cut. and i know sometime you dont change on the scale because im gaining muscle but i still know i have at least 40lbs of fat to lose! I wanna lose my body fat and gain some muscle also at the same time!

haha i guess i am just trying to get all my info out here so you guys can help me out.

here is what my daily diet and workouts consist of

wake up 7-8 am run 2mile (a slow jog)

breakfast 8-9am

4 egg whites
3 strawberries
1 piece wheat toast (no butter)
2 turkey sausage links

10-11am

muscle milk protien shake mixed with skim milk

11-12 workout at gym M/W/F take super pump250 30 mins before workout
and just started taking sizeon durring my workout

2-3pm after workout

muscle milk protien shake or turkey sandwhich on wheat with mustard if non workout day

4-5pm

6 inch subway turkey on wheat or grilled chicken with 1 serving veggies

6-7pm

protien bar, protien shake or small turkey sandwhich on wheat

9-10pm

muscle milk protien shake or low fat yogurt

ok thats pretty much it. i also do some extra cardio at night sometimes if i have alot of energy.

please help me out if you can!!

I think you need to keep 2-3 lbs as your goal....as someone almost as big as you and who has looked really good at 265 lbs...I might be uniquely qualified to answer your questions and/or understand where you are coming from.

Alot of these guys on this site started out like 5"8 155 lbs so when you say 290 lbs as a goal they have no idea wtf you are talking about and just assume you want to obese your entire life.

Feel free to visit my log and poach any info on how my cut is working/how much I eat and what I do as far as a workout....

AGAIN, I DO NOT BELIEVE IN "DEADLINE" CUTTING OR DIETING AND STILL THINK YOU NEED TO AIM FOR 2-3 LBS A WEEK IN LOSSES IF NOT A BIT LESS.

uhhmmm...well

I will start with the easiest question...those electronic bodyfat scales are junk...pulling numbers out of a hat is probabley just as acurate. Anyways you have about a 7-8 week tmeline (correct?)...in which case shooting for 40 pounds may be just a bit to much....unfortunately 20 pounds is more realistic. I won't say it isn't possible to do 35-40 pounds...but it is probabley better to set a more realistic goal. I would also advise you not to be to concerned with weight. You asked if you could be 290 pounds and ripped by the end. Well what if you are 310 pounds and ripped...I think you need to stop focusing on how much you will weigh and more on how you will look. If you look ripped, you look ripped...and you shouldn't worry about the weight...

anyways..I had to spend a few seconds looking up exactly what these supplements were...I got a headache just reading the claims....

anyways...

Do you work out from 11-12 or is that just the time you start...because if you are done working out at 12...and not eating until 2 you might want to make some changes there. You may also find that you retain weight using size on (which as far as I can tell is a really fancy name for creatine)...given that creatine usually increases water retention this may cause some issues with the scale...not inherrently with cutting though.

At 9-10 PM you have yourself taking a muscle milk protien shake...you might want to look at a source of protien like cottage cheese...if you can't stand the taste you could try just shelling out more cash and buying cassien protien...I realise muscle milk is supposed to include Casein protiens...amongst apparently every other protien ever invented by mankind...and i couldn't find out exactly how much...I am a little warry of something that tells you to take it Before you work out, during your work out, after your work out and before you go to bed...it probabley isn't the optimal choice for all of the above.

Anyways I gotta run....I know you were looking for a response so I'll give you this and then look more closely at it later...

First let me say that the BF% calculator on a bathroom scale is widely known to be very inaccurate. I would at least have a caliper test done before I worried too much. On this site it is reccommended that a person not lose more than 2 pounds a week to minimize muscle loss. Keeping that in mind you could probably safely lose 12-14 pounds of fat in the next 6 weeks. This will actually be better than losing weight faster because it will leave you with your muscle mass. Even if you were to lose 38 pounds in the next 6 weeks, your BF% would likely be the same, if not worse than before due to lost muscle.

yeah i mean im not really concerned about my weight i just know my body pretty well and can guess that i can be ripped at 290 lbs, i totally understand what you are saying and i agree. i am happy with losing 2-3 lbs a week. i just want to make sure it happens with what i am doing. is there a Casein protien that u recomend?

when i said 11-12 that just means i start somewhere in between there haha. i think i am going to by some whey protien to take after my workouts.

thanks for your input
