I dont get nervous fighting but I do get nervous talking
Its so strange, when I start to spar with someone who has been boxing for over 10 years, I dont really feel nervous, when I get hit hard I just try to hit back harder, and find openings, And I dont get nervous before fights or anything. But when I have to give a speech or talk infront of like more than 10 people I get very nervous. I think it should be the other way around, i cant believe I get so nervous about talking, because nothing bad can happen, but in a fight I can get really hurt and I dont get nervous. I wish I wasnt like this before talking.

You have confidence in your boxing, not in your talking.

practice talking in the mirror, then infront of family members and record your voice so u noe how ur voice sounds like and what u can improve on and then you should be confident enough to give a speech to strangers good luck

Thats a skill you need to develop just like how you train yourself to become a better boxer, if you don't have speech problems, I can't understand why you just can counter and fight in terms of words?

next time you have to give a talk imagine you are not talking with the audience... but fighting with them. dont say a word and just start to throw jabs and hooks in the direction of the audience (make sure not to hit them) after a couple of mins they will realise you are hard and you will have their full attention. now speak to them.... slip the jab if you start to get nervous again.

Same, but that's because i have a stutter that randomly kicks in. I fear it will kick in while i'm talking. Sometimes it's minor and hardly noticeable but other times it gets pretty bad. Very frustrating.

i'm the same way.....i've been pitching since i was little. When you think about it, I'm on the mound and 100% of the attention is on me for half the game, and I don't even think about it during the game, I just do my thing and I enjoy it. I feel like I'm the **** when I'm pitching.
During presentations I feel like I'm gonna die, I can't breath, my armpits sweat like hell, I stutter, my mind blocks, it sucks......i'd rather jump out an airplane or do fear factor missions.

a lot of people get nervous when speaking, i used to get it bad in school when doing talks. dont know what happened but i dont get nervous anymore. i guess when you leave school and realise that in the real world people are (usually) more mature and wont jump on any mistakes you make. when you realise that almost everyone else gets nervous as well this takes a lot of pressure off you.

maybe its the fact that I mumble and have a naturally low voice that makes me not confident in my social skills???
But the good thing is I have improved SO MUCH from before, I would throw up before having to talk to people, and now I am not as nervous.
