Could it just be my fast metabolism?
I've been eating much more in the past week(almost 2 full weeks), however I have yet to gain even a pound. This girl in my school has something where her metabolism is very fast(heard this from a friend), and she is thus skinny like me. My uncle, father, mother, and grandfather were all skinny(like me) until their late teens and early 20's. Is it possible that my metabolism is just too fast and it'll slow down when the time is right, given a set age? If so, is it just possibly genetical, coincidence, or just some sort of disorder/medical "thing". Info please; much appreciated.
PS- I know some might say "Change doesn't happen that fast" however, I know that I could have gained a pound the way I've been eating. Though I haven't kept track of what, I know I ate alot of protein and alot of calories. I ate whenever I felt the least bit hungry. I do not expect change rapidly, but a pound in two weeks, I do not think is "rapid".
Thanks.

I had a crazy thought in my head that I had to wait till I was in my mid 20's to really gain weight ( seeing a lot of fat teens/adults around ). Boy was I wrong, take a harder look at what your eating, are you eating the right food? Are you eating enough? Try to take in at least 1g per lb of body weight in protine, and always stay hydrated. Check out the nutrition section on the site for more info.

You may think you have fast metabolism. But you should really pay attention to your calories. And not just for one day, atleast a 3 week period of time.

What about when you weren't the least bit hungry?
Eat. Then eat some more. That seems to be one of the more popular sayings around here.
What was your diet? How often were you eating? What's your BMR? Were you eating 500 above that?

In the past 2 weeks, I've ate Chipotle almost everyday which has(in my burrito) both alot of protein (70g about) and calories (1300 about). This was just my lunch in school. Besides this, I had my breakfast, which is weak because I don't have the time to have a bigger one(just cereal w/ whole milk- full bowll, and 1 or 2 bannanas), along with my dinner which is usually big. Ex) Tonight, I ate 2 large turkey breasts that were fried with about 3 servings(give or take?) of white rice, bread, salad w/ vinegerrete, and a coke which I only had half of. Beyond this, throughout the day I have water(don't really know how much), cookies/more bannanas/milk/ protein bars from time to time and ice cream(which I have every day).
So, it could be that its that I don't eat alot; Honestly, I don't know. My weight seems to be so unbalanced and has its ups and downs at random times that I don't know what exactly causes it.
By the way, where do I find BMR, please&thanks.

wow dude, thats an aful diet...i mean not even taking cals into cosideration a vast majority of ur cals come from sat fats and simple carbs. I would definatly rework your entier meal plan. and rather than trying to eat 3 giant meals a day try for 6 smaller ones. one every 2-3 hours.

I garuntee you if you find a solid workout, take why, multi vitamen, and fishoil, and eat 3,500 clean calories, 1.5 grams of portein per lb of body weight, you will gain muscle. And yes your an ectomorph or a hardgainer. theres lots of us, I got the worst of both worlds I was/am skinny fat!

A good rule of thumb is "double the workout, double the food"...
Obviously it would be hard and possibly improbable to do exactly that, but you get the idea. Eat more food, train harder, get more rest. Eat 6 meals a day. Keep eating until you see some change...if you notice that you are putting on muscle, then hey, that's great. However, if you notice a [major] change in body fat, then step back and re-evaluate your program/diet. Above all, develop the mentality and motivation to achieve your goals and you will succeed.

You're making excuses... you're not eating enough. Trust me, man. I was in your situation, couldn't gain any weight, even though I ate SOO much. Then I realized that "SOO much" wasn't enough.
I haven't been hungry in months and multiple times a day I eat until I'm going to puke.. that isn't an exaggeration. It takes awhile to realize when you should stop before you actually do throw up your food and make that meal worthless. It takes time though to stretch your stomach to handle the extra food, what helped me was a product called Black Hole. Look it up.
Heed my advice and you'll grow.
