New Here
Hi,
I am after some advice please, i have been chatting with chickentuna on here who has offered me good advice but i don't want to keep pestering her, so i will pester everyone else instead.
I am after a good diet plan to follow, ive been reading don't eat this with that and so on and its send my head spinning, so here goes
I am 5ft 2 and weigh 122lbs and am 36 yrs old i am very small frame and have way too thin legs.
My tummy has cellulite all over and when i sit down i look 5 months pregnant, when in fact my last child was 13 yrs ago.........standing my tummy looks fine, and the muscle is really good.
I am after ways to rid the fat on the stomach and build muscle please.
SOOOOOOOO if anyone has a good eating plan for me i will be truly grateful
This is my food intake daily
Breakfast
Porridge
brown toast with marmalade
Lunch
Sandwich
Fruit
Evening meal
Potatoes, veg and some form of meat
I drink one cup of tea in the morning and the rest of the time its water
Should i take protein supplements or something????
HELP, i need to rid this belly and build muscle
I exercise daily and do weights but not sure if this is correct or if i should be doing this every other day but will ask this question in the correct part of this site.
Julie

It would help if you'd be more specific about your workouts. What type of cardio are you doing? What kind of weight training? Are you doing both every day? Alternating? And for how long each day?

how many calories are you consuming? That doesn't seem like much food...

Hi Darkangel,
I do a 1 1/2 hour workout DVD, its a warm-up, squats and and tummy workout, nothing too hard but i can see myself get firm.
I then do the weights working the arms, chest, shoulders but not the bottom half as im unsure what to do? ANY ADVICE PLEASE
I do the above every day at 8 and then i have my breakfast.
So i am after a food plan idea.
Thanks
Julie

My simplistic answer would be:
1. Eat at least two or three more times a day
2. Make sure you have protein at every meal
Add some egg whites to breakfast,
Make sure your toast and sandwich is on whole grain bread
Trade your potatoes in for sweet potatoes, brown rice, quinoa, or some other whole grain.
Protein shakes and bars can help with adding protein/meals in a pinch
If I'm not hungry, but I need to get some calories and protein in (i.e. an additional meal), I drink nonfat milk - nice balance of protein and carbs
How much time have you spent here on the forums? Terracotta has a great website that helps with this, and Boyscout has some good general suggestions as well. GL!

nope~ they don't have to be raw, and I don't recommend it they can be cooked however you liked (they're actually not bad microwaved to tell you the truth) as long as the way that you cook it doesn't add fat.
I can't stand egg whites by themselves, so I usually add a yolk or two, for color and flavor

weight bearing exercises for your lower half will help to build some muscle.....do you have dumbells?
if so hold them in both hands and do squats, lunges, step ups onto a bench or whatever is sturdy etc.

So, you're doing a total body 1.5 hour toning/light weight workout every day?
I'd suggest you go to a split routine - break your weight training into different days so you can go heavier and focus more on specific parts. You might try an upper/lower body split. You should have a day or two of rest per week, too.
If you like to workout at home, I'd highly recommend Cathe Freidrich's workouts: www.cathe.com

Hi
your goal is to lose fat and build muscle so, you need to be challenging yourself with your lifting. What equipment do you have available, are you working out at home or at a gym? What exercises are you doing?
I wasn't sure from your post (cos I'm no good at fractions) whether you're doing half an hour of cardio or one and a half hours of cardio per day ... ? 30 mins would be good, 90 mins would be too much.
To really have control of all of this you need to be very tuned in to your diet and know exactly how much of what you're eating every day, as in how it stacks up in grammes of protein, carbs and fat and total daily calories. A very rough calculation for you, to lose BF, would be 12 calories per lb of body weight per day. Sites like fitday or nutridiary will help enormously with the sums!
Eating 5-6 small meals a day is the way to go, with protein and a carb at each meal.
Good luck
