Top Palestinian Legislator calls for killing all Jews and Americans

Sheik Ahmad Bahr, acting Speaker of the Palestinian Legislative Council, declared during a Friday sermon at a Sudan mosque that America and Israel will be annihilated and called upon Allah to kill Jews and Americans "to the very Last One." Following are excerpts from the sermon that took place last month, courtesy of MEMRI.

Ahmad Bahr began: "'You will be victorious' on the face of this planet. You are the masters of the world on the face of this planet. Yes, [the Koran says that] 'you will be victorious,' but only 'if you are believers.' Allah willing, 'you will be victorious,' while America and Israel will be annihilated. I guarantee you that the power of belief and faith is greater than the power of America and Israel. They are cowards who are eager for life, while we are eager for death for the sake of Allah. That is why America's nose was rubbed in the mud in Iraq, in Afghanistan, in Somalia, and everywhere."

Bahr continued and said that America will be annihilated, while Islam will remain. The Muslims "'will be victorious, if you are believers.' Oh Muslims, I guarantee you that the power of Allah is greater than America, by whom many are blinded today. Some people are blinded by the power of America. We say to them that with the might of Allah, with the might of His Messenger, and with the power of Allah, we are stronger than America and Israel."

The Hamas spokesperson concluded with a prayer, saying: "Oh Allah, vanquish the Jews and their supporters. Oh Allah, count their numbers, and kill them all, down to the very last one. Oh Allah, show them a day of darkness. Oh Allah, who sent down His Book, the mover of the clouds, who defeated the enemies of the Prophet, defeat the Jews and the Americans, and bring us victory over them."

Can't say I've missed it,though.

1- It wasn't a call to kill anyone
2- It was a prayer to bring defeat upon the "Jews and Americans". (It implies that those are fighting you in the fist place)

Plus I think it's identical (if not a but more watered down) than the Rabbi's quote I've linked to

I don't support what the Rabbi said. Do you support such rhetoric from Muslim religious figures? It kind of sounds like you are trying to justify the comments of the Sheik. Either way it only serves to reinforce the idea that only complete separation of the two poulations will ever lead to anything resembling peace.

Shas spokesman, Yitzhaq Suderi defended the rabbi, saying his remarks referred only to "Arab murderers and terrorists" and not the Arab people as a whole.

'Stirring up hatred'

Palestinian cabinet minister Hassan Asfur urged international civil institutions and human rights organisations to consider Rabbi Yosef a war criminal in future.

The utterances were "a clear call for murder and a political an intellectual terrorism that will lead to military terrorism", he said in remarks reported on Palestinian radio.

He added that no punishment would come from Israel "because its political culture and action are in line with [the rabbi's] racist statements".

Israeli Justice Minister Meir Sheetrit also condemned the sermon, saying: "A person of Rabbi Ovadia Yosef's stature must refrain from acrid remarks such as these."

And he added: "I suggest that we not learn from the ways of the Palestinians and speak in verbal blows like these."

Salah Tarif, the only Arab cabinet minister in the Israeli government, also criticized Rabbi Yosef, saying "his remarks add nothing but hatred".

Where do I fit into the equation of his praying and God listening?

The article I quoted had someone explain that the Rabbi meant Arab terrorists.

Overall. I don't take what some violent Rabbi had to say to represent the entire Jewish mentality- (much more than I could say about this thread)

I bet with such a wall, you will have some people from both sides jumping to the other side.

I think the heads thing is limited to Iraq and Afghanistan.

You are at war in Iraq and Afghanistan, and you supply arms to the ones the Palestinians are fighting.

We give money to a country and the government uses that money to promote the killing of the people giving the money. I just don't see how that makes sense......
