How much water weight can sodium add?

Consider this scenario:

Before Carbup: 247 lbs
After carbup: afraid, didn't weigh
After 1st day back on keto: 250 lbs
After 2nd day " " " : 254 lbs
After 3rd day " " " : 258 lbs

Needless to say, on the 2nd & 3rd days I ate a lot (~4500 cal) and a lot of sodium (chicken, hot dogs, cottage cheese). Really though, I've eaten much more food and calories and not gained any weight or only a lb or two. The only thing I can think of is that the food I've been eating has had a lot sodium, but I drank lots of water to try to flush it out... I've also been eating more brocolli.. Could sodium be responsible for 8 lbs in two days? 11 lbs more than before I started the last carbup!

I've certainly put on 5lb of water after eating salty ribs, and I'm smaller than you.

I was at 172 before, and got leaner so I hope I'm at 170-171.

But right now the scale says 175, and I know it's not fat.

and consider that some of the really obese lose (like 800lbs and so on) retain hundreds of pounds of water.

You getting leaner?! Judging by your avatar, that'd be just plain scary...
