Are mom and pop barbershops better than a Supercuts or Fantastic Sams?
For a regular haircut. I just don't want them to f*ck it up. I've been growing mine out for like 6 months and want a nice haircut.

yes!
It actually depends, I go to both depending on what I want. I like how supercuts and those places wash your hair...feels nice.

Not many local places where I'm from. The ones that are there, usually the lady insists on speaking to you, and my Spanish ain't so hot so it's somewhat embarassing(even if it was better, I still just find it annoying when people insist on speaking to you in Spanish). Plus, in my experience, people are less likely to talk to you when you go to an bigger type of places like Supercuts or whatever. I hate it when total strangers try striking up conversation.

If you want a shorter manlier haircut then yes, barber shops are better. If you want a more mainstream pretty boy cut, super cuts/cost cutters or whatever would be your best bet.

I think I'm gonna stop going to Fantastic Sam's. There are certain chicks in there that do a good job but some do an awful job, and I can never remember which ones are which when I go back in. This fat broad really hacked my hair up good last time I was in there, it looked like crap. I think I'm gonna start going back to my old barber, he did good work.
I usually get a sort of "high and tight" haircut, where the sides are shaved and then it transitions into being longer on the top, but most of the chicks at Fantastic Sam's have no idea how to do the transition, and it comes out looking uneven and even places they completely miss.

From experience younger females are the best.... they know the best/newest styles and won't cut your hair like a grandma would.
go to your local Regis Salon and find a hot young chick to do it.... usually it's expensive but they won't **** it up.
