My college had six gun threats last night(very serious)

Last night around 2:00 AM i was about to brush my teeth, my friend comes running over to me and says "dont go to school tomorrow, Emily(changed name due to i dunno safety) got a call from a voice saying using a voice modulater: 'don't go to school tomorrow.. dont go to school tomorrow.. dont go to school tomorrow.. there is gonna be another masacre.'" This girl was dead ass serious when she called my friend and sounded scared as ever.

Well this is big news.. couple kids from my floor are calling everyone they know to help warn them.. about 6 or so of us go down the lobby to talk to an RA about it, and for some reason there was ten people down there so we tell them about. They soon call everyone they know. Gannon security has already been notified by the girl who got the call last night but they still come to finegan when we told the security guard down stairs. They come and talk to my friend who the girl called and all they said it could be a hoax relax but they are gonna take it very seriously.

They campus security leaves. We are all in the lobby; about 30 of us or so(probably real stupid of us). My friend gets word that there is ANOTHER call to a girl in the other dorm saying the same thing. This really gets people worried. A TON of people start leaving, everyone is worried and go to a friends house or their frat/sorority house. Then a third call is confirmed around 3:30 AM. By the this point it seemed like 3/4th of my dorm is ready to go.

I am a little nervous and even live in the same town as my college so could easily go home but felt no need. I go upstairs and around 4 am my friends get back from the lobby come back up saying there were 3 more calls. Normally I do not get worried about these things.. for the first time though I was actually nervous and kinda freaked out. After six calls classes are not cancelled, though almost everyone I know isnt going.

This is the email the school sent out:

This is to inform you that at approximately 12:50 a.m. this morning, a Gannon University student received an anonymous call on a cellular phone. The caller indicated in the form of a vague warning not to attend class on Wednesday due to an unspecified threat of violence. The student immediately reported the incident to the Campus Police and Safety office. This incident is under investigation. In cooperation with the Erie City Police Department and the District Attorney?s office, all efforts are being be made to identify the source of the call.



We have no specific reason to believe the threat is credible. However, we are taking it seriously and responding appropriately. The University will be open for business today and classes will operate on a normal schedule. Please be aware that you will see a heightened presence of police security in and around campus buildings.



Updated or additional information will be broadcast as it becomes available. Current information will also be provided on Gannon?s Emergency Announcement Hotline, 871-****.



Please report unusual or suspicious activity by dialing 911 from a campus phone or 871-**** from a cellular phone.

I could not believe they cannot even mention the five other calls and classes are not cancelled. This is very serious stuff. The calls are not just rumors, RAs called security to confirm their validity. My college is in downtown Erie Pennsylvania so almost anyone has access to the college and there is a lot of weirdos down here. The thing that scares me is the people called all live in different places and are different ages.. so no real connection between the people besides I believe they were all girls.

I am not going to class. One call is crappy but i would assume its a prank. Six calls is something very serious and scary i think. The few people I know that stayed are not going to class. The one kid who did go to class this morning said out of 35 people in his class only four were there. I do not want to take any chances at all. The Erie Police are supposedly on this to. I just pray to God this was a hoax. This is a very sick hoax if it was, especially after VT.

maybe the person who warned them wasn't the one who was planning the shooting but had overheard it or maybe it was a friend of her whos planning to or whatever.

i agree with that 100%.. its weird they r using a voice modulator like something out of scary movie.. that alone would creep me out, im pretty calm about it.. i live 15 minutes from school and could easily go home but dont.. last night like 5 girls were in tears about it.. i just hope i did just get played by this guy

No offense but you all are a bunch of pussies and are thinking with your vagina instead of your head. Did you stop to think why would someone call and warn people about the shooting before he did it? Duh. Also why would he call a bunch of girls? because they are easy to scare. second duh. But apparently the guys at your place are just as easy to scare though.
