High quality car companies that are not main-stream

Been thinking about vehicle companies that make high quality cars, but just aren't very common. I am of course, excluding the super-exotic cars like Lambos and Ferraris.

Here is a list I've come up with:

1.) Saab - After taking the pleasure of acquainting myself with a jet-black, convertible Saab 93 Aero Turbo, I have since been highly fond of these cars. The amount of features and details the car had was simply staggering. The whole experience just oozed "quality". They are all imported from Sweden, and you have to visit their website (or dealerships) to custom-build your own to even buy one. I surmise they are the BMW of Sweden.

2.) Audi - From what I've gathered, these things are serious machines of luxury and performance. Just look at this sexy beast (Audi S8):
http://www.forbesautos.com/gallery/2...lide=20&play=t

3.) Volvo - These are highly reputed to be the safest, sturdiest cars in the world. Supposedly you could pancake yourself on a wall, and you'll be fine. And on top of that, they are similar to Saab not only in their Swedish origin, but their perfectionist attention to fine details and luxurious features.

There's my list.

And just for the sake of appreciating fine cars, get a load of this:

The Rolls Royce Phantom. Goddam sexy.

Although, I would get my trim in a darker wood.

I would consider Saab, Volvo, and Audi all main stream.... I see quite a few on the road each day.

I see all three I've mentioned every now and then, but I see a lot more BMWS, Mercedes, and Lexus's than I do the above three mentioned. Those are more "main-stream", IMO.

Maybe it is the difference in where we live? Actually where I work it isn't uncommon at all to see Ferraris, Lambos and Bentleys.

I feel the same... I just am not a big fan of the styling.

Saab and Volvo aren't high quality. They compete with the likes of Chrysler, Dodge, Honda, Toyota, and other makers for the $15-$30k market.

Audi is a competitor for BMW, MB and Lexus. They've been around for ages, and are main-stream.

If you want to see some cool Bentleys, look at Mansory after-market company (google it, and it should come up first on the list). Click on each model, read up on the info and check out the galleries.
