Full Fat Salad Dressings
I just ate some regular ranch dressing today for the first time on keto. I really enjoyed it and it was nice to get a new fat in my diet.
I was wondering if anyone eats lots of salad dressings on keto and what there experience is or if they have ever experienced the full fat dressings knocking them out of ketosis?

You're fine...it's part of the diet. I have 4 tbs of bleu cheese dressing throughout the day...it won't knock you out...it's only like one to three carbs a serving anyways. Enjoy it!

its fine for being in keto, personally I tried to avoid all processed vegetable oils though... (your generally getting refined soybean oil as bulk of your calories in both ranch and bleu cheese)

hydrogenated oils have no place in any diet...you should watch out for those regardless if youre on keto or not

Thanks! I always fear the soybean oil. Terrible that these companies try to posion us with it. And I'm not just saying that because I'm jealous of their huge profits

I think I'm going to just stick with olive oil as a dressing since that's obviously safe and healthy.
Anyone ever mix their olive oil with anything to make a tasty dressing though?

Sugar is the problem in a lot of salad dressings.

French dressing: 3 tbs extra virgin olive oil. 1 tbs balsamic or cidar vinegar, 1/2 tsp whole grain mustard, salt and pepper to taste. Shake in a jar. Enjoy.
I also throw some dried extra-hot chilis into a bottle of olive oil and let it infuse for a week or two, then pour it on when I want a bit of kick.

i use a 3 cheese ranch dressing. full fat has 9g per tbsp and less than 1g carbs. i just put 2 tbsp over my veggies. i switch between mayo and ranch dressing. dont make it a main source of fat intake though

I searched google for olive oil salad dressings. Bragg Live Foods makes a few. Rachel Ray has some recipes for dressing in her salad recipes.
In my search I found this recipe:
http://www.foodnetwork.com/food/rach..._27870,00.html
It might need a few things left out but it looks overall like a very good keto meal.
