Check out this HARDCORE Vegan diet!
Ok, well the guy who wrote this article about how to be a vegan bodybuilder looks like a pretty big, strong guy..but am I the only one who thinks this diet looks kind of pussy?
Breakfast:
3 tablespoons of Rice Protein Powder (nutribiotic brand) with 8oz of almond
Milk and 8oz of soy milk. I add ½ cup of frozen mango or strawberries to
The mix and one tablespoon of coconut oil.
I also add in two teaspoons of Vitamineral Green (Similar Products)
Mid Afternoon Snack:
½ cup of almonds and ½ cup of raisins
Late Afternoon Snack:
Two Veggie burgers with olive oil
Some Sprouted Bread (“Ezekial†or "Man's Bread")
Post Workout Shake:
3 scoops of Rice Protein Powder with 8oz of oat or rice milk.
I throw in 1 tablespoons of flaxseed oil and ½ cup of frozen fruit.
Dinner:
Mixed Green Salad with 1 tablespoon of olive oil or one avocado.
One cup of lentils steamed with squash, carrots, tomatoes, mushrooms, and some tofu.
One tablespoon of olive oil is added to the mix.
One cup of quinoa
A pear or apple
Some Dark chocolate for dessert and some ginger cookies
Glass of red whine
Late Night Snack:
Peanut butter or almond butter sandwich and a cup of berries
I mean look at that ultra studly dinner!!! I think there may be about 1 gram of protein in it! Well the guy looks like he gets results off it but god...damn...

I saw that and thought that diet was not a convincing arguement to go vegan.

Not brainwashed, unless you agree that your decision to eat meat is brainwashing. It's a matter of personal choice.
The reason people eat vegan is to avoid exploiting creatures and to avoid killing them. Some do so for religious reasons, some do so for political reasons (have you ever seen how animals are treated in commercial production facilities?) and some do so for health reasons (I'm sure you realize American meat & dairy products are pumped with all types of chemicals, and sea creatures are full of heavy metals).
Vegans do not consume anything that comes from creatures. That includes dairy, honey and some even avoid wearing silk, wool and other animal derived products.
Vegetarians eat only animal products that don't require killing, such as eggs, dairy, honey, etc.
People who call themselves vegetarians and eat chicken or fish are not vegetarians. They are simply avoiding red meat.

Veganism, or even vegetarianism are definetely two things that dont mix too well with bodybuilding. I give that mike Mahler guy props for looking as muscular as he does while using THAT diet.

thats a rather poor bbing diet. not enough complete proteins, there is enough fats, and it's low in carbs as well.
it is a larger than normal vegan diet, but still couldn't support more than 150lbs of muscle imo.

"Mixed Green Salad with 1 tablespoon of olive oil or one avocado.
One cup of lentils steamed with squash, carrots, tomatoes, mushrooms, and some tofu.
One tablespoon of olive oil is added to the mix.
One cup of quinoa
A pear or apple
Some Dark chocolate for dessert and some ginger cookies"
Glass of red whine
There are multiple sources of protien in his diet, the key is knowing where to look. Not all protien comes from animals as any type of bean (especially lentils) are a great source of amino acids (bcaa's and EAAS etc). Tofu, even though popular "gossip" says it increases levels of estrogen in body (no actual evidence that the levels of estrogen in soy are enough to make any readable difference in over all body estrogen) it is an incredibly good source of clean protien as well. I have known quite a few Vegan bodybuilders that are quite established and have excellent physics (one is 6'5" 300lbs with 4.5% BF, went pro two years ago). So it is possible; just not as "no-brainer".
