I will probably regret this, but lets discuss this addiction.

Alrighty guys, its been a few weeks, its time to discuss the addiction i recently quit.

not drugs (i am 100% drug free all my life) not beer (i dont drink, went through a phase at like 18-19)

and smoking, well, i am working on quitting that.

What i quit a few weeks ago was worse, this addiction is a demon, it will make you fat, make some people lose their girlfriends/boyfriends (not me thankfully)
and generaly change you.

it is called World Of Warcraft

i first bought the game on its launch day years ago, played on and off, but 7 months ago i started to play hardcore, leveling character after character, doing bg's, and sometimes raiding, going on stv ganking runs, etc.

on jan 16th 2007 i had only one level 60 character, a hunter, i got the expansion called burning crusade, and starting jan 16th, hardcore was thrown out the window, insanity took its course, i would not stop till i got 2 NEW characters to level 70, a blood elf rogue, and blood elf warlock.

in 2 months i did it, leveled 2 characters from 1-70, about a week after i hit 70 with the rogue, i snapped, and uninstalled the game, canceled my account, and threw away all the cd's.

thankfully, i have the kind of wife that will support me no matter what, while i played, she read books, stuff like that, she almost fainted when i quit WoW.

normal games is one thing, games like ghost master, FEAR combat, CS:source i can play for 2 hours, and stop, not with this one, world of warcraft kept me on it from morning till night, so i had to stop.

I am trying to get back into the gym now, after not going for this long, but its hard, i feel so out of shape.

so, why the hell am i posting this? simple, dont do it, stick to other non insanely addictive games, fps games, rts games, go play empire earth, but avoid WoW, i know people will say they can balance it, but some people cannot, the reason is this.

you are standing in ironforge, or orgrimmar, or shattrath, you always see people with better gear then you, full hwl gear, full tier 4-5, you want it, you want to work for it, play 10 hours a day for it, for some pixels.

please, keep this mature, thanks.

Ok I actually don't know what that means. I played on my friends account for like an hour once and got bored after that.

I always played on a pvp server, and had a blast with my rogue who was level 70, i would tear lowbies apart in stv (stranglethorn vale)

i would even stealth into the alliance cities and gank flagged players, then vanish.

as fun as it was, its not worth it in the end.

i get addicted to even fps (first person shooters)...i dunno y guess im like that, get addicted to pretty much anything i like, luckly i have not touched the more dangerous addictions like drugs or world of warcraft, primarly for this reason.

BTW, the best way to get rid of your addiction IMO is to either go cold turkey or if you are strong enough, set a strict time limit and close the game no matter where you are (it doesnt sound like you can do it).

So, I recommend you throw the game out or sell it. I was addicted to SNES when it came out and realized it was a draining my life so I didnt get the next system. Never played video games since.

Thank god I never give games like this a chance. I prefer games that you can play with other people like Pro Evolution Soccer, and Fight Night. Other than that I think surfing the internet is my addiction, something I prefer to do rather than getting some college work done etc. Man I need to get my life in order and my priorities right.

I think we are all guilty of a little proscrastination or lethargy. The misc is a perfect place to do it.
