Sleepingproblems after workout

Hi there to all of you,
I'm new on this forum on advice of a friend.
I've got a problem.
After my workouts I always have some trouble with sleeping.
It feels as if I drank 6 cups of coffee just before bedtime and I cannot get relaxed
Does anyone recognise this and more important does anyone have tips for me to get rid of this problem?

My workout times are in the evening let's say from 19:00 till 20:30
and I can't change these times because of work.

Best regards,
Gert

working out close to bed time causes trouble for many people...it is best to change your routine or make sure you're not taking energy supps 6 hours before bedtime. I used to take multivits after dinner and i found out it caused me to have trouble sleeping.

Check your diet and try to workout at least 4 hours pre bedtime

after you work out or do rigorous exercising your body is still in an active state and electrons are firing everywhere so that's why you can't sleep after a workout.

i agree that it would be best to try to bump your workout up to an earlier time. if this isn't possible, try one of the following over-the-counter meds:

benadryl 25 mg
melatonin 9 mg

9 mg of melatonin??? Most people seem to get great results from much smaller doses, say from 3-5 mg. If you go that route start lower and see what works. If you try to benadryl, which I don't personally like because I sleep but its not good sleep, you can probably get away with 50mg which is the dose of diphenhydramine HCL in max strength benadryl and in all the antihistamine-based sleep aids(Nytol, Unisom, etc.)

I workout out around 3:30 pm 3x a week. I can NEVER go to sleep. My friend's like "man, when I hit the pillow I'm out." When I hit the pillow, I stare at the ceiling for an hour. I can literally go "to bed" at 11:00 pm and still be up at midnight.

Tips?
