First, let's get a few things straight.

There are people who, not because of accidents in the womb but because of their DNA and thus God's perfect design, are profoundly mentally retarded.

Some of these people are so profoundly mentally retarded that, despite perfectly formed mouths and wind pipes, can't speak. They can't speak because they are too dumb to comprehend speech. They lack the reasoning ability to figure out how to tie a shoe. Even if they see a person tying a shoe, they will never be able to copy and imitate it because they're too dumb.

There are chimpanzees who are more intelligent, sentient, and conscious than these human beings. These human beings are too dumb to comprehend speach so they don't have many thoughts resembling consciounse, if any, going on in their head.

There are chimpanzees who, even though they lack the properly formed human mouths and wind pipes, are able to speak basic English. They speak through sign language because they are able to, unlike the profoundly mentally retarted humans, comprehend speeh. They can solve problems too. They make spears and tie shoes.

So, these smart chimpanzees are more conscious and intelligent than these dumb human beings.

However, God has blessed these dumb human beings with a soul. They will get to live on forever even though they're too stupid to even comprehend the concept of a soul. Yet, these chimpanzees who are obviously more intelligent don't get a soul. They don't get a chance at everlasting life. They get to rot in the ground.

How do Christians explain this?


When you're done explaining that, you can explain to me what happened to the dead, soulless neanderthals who were smart enough to bury their dead and make tools like humans. Or all the dead homo erectus who were smart enough to make fire like humans.

There are better examples than chimpanzees. Dolphins are even more intelligent.

Besides, it is not man's souls that give us eternal life, it is God's mercy. Humans don't have souls, we are souls. As for animals, who here can say that they will perish?

Animals clearly do not have souls. This question is sparked over thoughts of what will happen to pets like dogs and cats when their lives end or when we're raptured. Over the years there have been trillions of animals on the earth, and heaven would be a very crowded place if each one of had a soul.

The fact that animals don't have a soul is, in a way, an advantage to them. I've lost several pets over the years, and I firmly believe that in Heaven I can ask God to bring each one back to life. With humans this outcome is not possible. I've had several relatives die in what I feared was a lost state. If I should make Heaven my home, I know I'll never see them again.
