I was just dealing with the same issue myself. I'm competing for the first time on April 24. I'm 19 1/2 weeks out right now. I was first considering doing a 14 week cut. Then I got some bad advice that told me 12. So I talked to most muscular and he explained to me why a 16 week cut is best for me. Right now I am 175lbs and approx 11% bodyfat. Now I may not have much fat to lose but he explained to me that if I get down to 5-6% before the comp I can use the 2-3 weeks extra that I have to fill out because I will look flat when I get my bf down there. My best advice for you is to talk to someone who has done it before and had a lot of success. They can really help you out.
