Killswitch Engage review

This is dedicated to my brothers in arms, G_Train and PhoenixBuff.

I arrived at the show at around 7:15, the place was getting packed. Me and my friend were just walking around and chilling, scoping out the venue because we have never been there. 5 minutes later, He Is Legend takes the stage. It wasn't TOO bad (i've seen much, MUCH worse), but it wasn't too good. They played 4 songs and left the stage. At this time, my buddy and I were in the back of the venue. After a water break, Chimaira comes in. I've heard some of their stuff but i'm pretty indifferent. Their show was pretty good actually. Their songs have a pretty strong groove feel and it was heavy as hell. I just might have to download their torrent to give them another listen.

Chimaira leaves the stage and my friend and I go down into the floor. The place starts filling up and we feel as if we are wasting away the night by standing in the back and watching the bands. He wasn't really getting into it (hes not to big on the bands, he listens to more rock and progressive. I forced him to go) so we decided to go to the "pit". DragonForce comes on and oh boy, this is where it gets ghey.

As soon as the fat, sweaty, bald, geezers start rumbling their fat rolls into the front, we back the f*ck off and decide to go to the back of the floor to watch DragonForce. Their show was a HUGE, HUGE clownfest. They acted like a bunch of clowns. They jumped around and ZP threat was acting like an annoying b*tch. During one of their 7 minute songs (who cares which one, they all sound the same) he lets the crowd sing a few verses. after a few lines the crowd dies off. Bitch! we pay YOU to sing, not the other way around. He then flicks off the crowd, jokingly, and says in his gay ass british accent "Oh, you thought we were going to stop right there? Nooooo! we are going to keep going!" and him and his manlet guitarists start cracking dick jokes at each other. They eventually started to play again and finished off their boring ass set.

Then me and my buddy got close as some DragonForce fans left. We waited for Killswitch Engage to come on and we were in the pit, on the right side. After about 30 minutes, KSE comes on opening with "Daylight Dies" The crowd is going insane and we are jumping around with our fists in the air, acting like kids. He eventually fades out of the picture (bad ears and lost his ear plugs, so he back out of the pit.) but I stayed in. Their set was amazing, they played about 4 songs from their new CD (My Curse, Daylight Dies, For You, Still beats your name) about 4 from TEOH (A Bid Farwell,TEOH,Breathe life, Take this Oath) and 3 from AoJB (My last Serenade, numbered days, life to lifeless).

As the pit grew more insane, I was able to work my way to the front. I was right up against the gate, eyeball to eyeball with the security guards and Howard came right up to our side and gave me a "pound". During the little break, howard called out the drunks in the back and even singled out some boozed fat lady. Honestly, one of the best shows of my life.

Advantages:
1. Got up close and rocked out
2. Got free drinks (energy drinks)
3. During the pit, we were all packed in tight (like holocaust victims in the rail cars) and this girl with huge tits was rubbing her body on my ass. I tried to not get a hard on.
4. Met some new people (no metal oricles here, I guess Jeremy and his possy don't listen to KSE)

Disadvantages:
1. Didnt get any ****! :angry:. After Chimaira's set, they dumped all of their pics and **** into the front audience. I was hoping KSE would do that too but Mike only threw 3 or 4 wrist bands (1 of which was 2 f*cking feet away from me) and Patrick Lachman (adams replacement) threw his measly pick into the crowds behind me.
2. douches wanted to crowd surf and i got hit in the back of the head by some turd shoe 2 or 3 times.
3. No free ****!

ive never been to one of their shows...the last show i went to was the goo goo dolls (kill me please) chick i was seeing had tix from her brother who is a DJ at a radio station..

and april 4th im gonna be in buffalo for Aaron Lewis from Staind's acoustic solo tour...super pumped bout that

reminds me of when i saw 'em a couple of months back ..

they only played 11 songs though? hmm short set. But it would have been ****ING AWESOME


shame adam wasn't there ... he just adds another 20% to the show, but KSE is KSE none the less

Yeah, I forgot to add they played their cover of Holy Diver and this fire burns.

and another thing, for like 10 minutes this dude behind me was totally all over me. I didn't notice it. But when i did turned around and he had this big ****ing gay ass grin on his face so i threw his ass into the pit.

AND this little manlet black guy was running around trying to push people. So I got behind him, kick him in the back of the kneecaps, and when his knees buckled i pushed him on the ground.

Nah, u won't.

Hes just a girl. I only used them for He Is Legend to try and block the terrible music.

if you use earplugs, you won't be able to hear the guitars
