Girl being wierd (what else is new)

Alright so i was at this kegger last weekend and it had probably like 150 people from my school, pretty tight. Well i was walking around talking to a bunch of people that i havent seen in a long time (huge school) and i said hey to this guy i know and there was this hot girl in one of my classes standing next to him. So she like basically runs over or skips or something i just look over and all of a sudden shes right next to me talking. So we were talking and SHE was like wow i didnt know you did this we just exchange numbers, then we started talking about some other stuff and ironically she was talking how it would be akward at school and i said naw well be cool about it. Then later on i was walking to the car to get some of the beer we had leftover from last weekend and as i was walking back i saw her outfront walking to her car or something and i was like hey lauren then she said hey not realizing who i was and the she noticed it was me and was all like oh hey chris! (you know the tone like she was glad to see me) so i asked her if she was going back to the party and she was like yeah im just going to the car right quick so i said ill see you in there, i didnt really she her the rest of the night and my mom was calling off the wall so i had to leave like around 2. We didnt exchange numbers because she didnt have her phone on her when i was talking to her and i had lost my phone at a track meet so i was like yeah im getting a new phone this weekend so well exchange numbers at school. Heres the problem shes been acting real shy at school and i cant make eye contact and she basically quickly leaves class because i sit by the teacher and she sits by the door and i cant get the opportunity to talk to her. I saw her once in the docs office after i finished lifting weights for football because she plays soccer and i was with a bunch of guys looking for some cups and i saw her and was like hey lauren and then she gave the the shy hey and she was busy doing her exercises or whatever and then i was just like alright ill see you later lauren and smiled at her and had a real friendly tone and she was just like oh by.

Im really confused about this. She wasnt drunk at all, i dont get why shes being shy unless she found a boyfriend because shes one of the hottest girls in my grade. I havent done anything bad or embarassing that she could have heard from one of her friends and i havent really seen her with any other guy so i dont know what the problem is. I mean if i had her number i could of just called her up and invited her to her party or asked her why shes being wierd or what not but i dont. besides she was the one that came up to me saying we should exchange numbers and party so anybody have a hunch on what the **** is up?

Cliff Notes: At a party said hey to a guy i know, one of the hottest girls in my grade and in my was class next to him, saw me and came over she said we should exchange numbers and party together i lost my phone earlier in the week she didnt have it on her so i told her we would exchange numbers at school. Later that night she sounded like she was excited to see me again (hey chris!). Shes been acting wierd at school ive been trying to talk to her and make eye contact but its a no go. She wasnt drunk, she couldnt of heard anything bad about me because i havent done anything bad that anybody knows about, and i dont think shes the type thats shy around guys **** she was the one who came up to me and said we should exchange numbers. help?

Try to catch her alone after class or on spare time cause it sounds like she's the type not to be bothered in class and when you're with your football buddies she's probably intimidated.

the problem with my school is its hard to catch her out of class the school is designed in an h sometime i dont see people i knew from middle school for months at a time or see people that i didnt even know go to my school. Im still gonna try and talk to her but anybody think they know why she acting wierd?

probably just shy when she's not intoxicated?

naw but i mean she wasnt even drunk i asked her how long she was at the party and she said 20 minutes and it takes like at least 5 minutes to get to the keg because of the amount of people, shes not the shy type person either thats why im just confused as ****.

maybe just in a more social mindset at a party. I'm like that too I probably seem anti-social at school but I'm only there to learn

EDIT: in answer to your question, having read the post, i'd say try and get her alone and ask her out. simple as that. if she says no then leave it.

maybe she had been drinking a little.
a couple of drinks will make you less shy and more sociable. you don't have to be pissed out of your mind to have lessened inhibitions.
