mY 1sT dAy - - - LoOk!
i just hit 17 years old, never did weight training before.. i weigh 150lbs...
ok today was my 1st day doing rippitoes (probably not spelled rite)... and to be honest, i felt kind of weak after looking around the gym.. this is what i did in this order:
- bench press
5 reps of 95 lbs
5 reps of 105 lbs
5 reps of 115 lbs
- squats
5 reps of 95 lbs
5 reps of 95 lbs
5 reps of 95 lbs
- deadlifts
5 reps of 125 lbs
5 reps of 135 lbs
5 reps of 145 lbs
i used to do curls and my arms would actually feel sore / kinda burn after i was done working out.
- when i did rippitoes today, i didnt really feel that burn so did i do something wrong?
- in order to get bigger and stronger, should i just keep doing rippitoes on 3 nonconsecutive days like it says?

I think maybe hit squats first? due to releasing testosterone and things, I dunno, maybe it's the same either way if you're doing your compounds first. If you did each of those exercises with enough weight to hit exhaustion then it was prolly done right. Someone else could prolly give you a lot better advice on it, I'm gonna start that program as soon as my shoulder's healed.

1) you're supposed to keep the weight the same for the sets of each exercise (if you are benching 115, you are supposed to bench 115 for 3x5)
2) do squats first, then bench, then deadlift. why? squats work your legs, and deadlifts work your legs too (to an extent). bench press is put in the middle so your legs can get a bit of rest in the meantime.
3) its spelled Rippetoe not rippitoe
4) you're only on the first workout of this routine, for the first 2 or so weeks, the weights should be really light. after a few weeks in, you'll be worn out by this routine.
edit - 5) to get bigger, you must be in caloric excess

1) you increase weight each WORKOUT not each SET. whoever told you that (for Rippetoe's routine) is wrong.
5) you need above what is needed to function daily to grow. if you are feeding yourself the same amount each day (maintnence), you would have no reason to grow, you would stay the same. having that extra amount is whats going to give your body what it needs to grow and get bigger. you have to break the "norm" to get bigger.

bench works your triceps & shoulders in addition to chest
rows works your biceps & back
if by the 4th or 5th week you want to add some more exercises, you can add dips and if i remember correctly, curls on fridays. it's in the programming section of the thread i linked you
but you shouldn't immediately incorporate these accessory exercises into rippetoes until the 4th or 5th week
also, you'll need to give it at least 7-8 weeks + proper nutrition + rest to see results

If this is your first time lifting, and you picked appropriate weights you're going to feel it tomorrow. I just started Rippetoe's this week as well, but since I was already lifting somewhat previously and considering the supps I'm on I incorporated dips/chins into my workout immediately. I'll add curls and a tricep exercise on fridays in a week or two.

Both squats and deadlifts both work your lower back so you will feel it there for a few work out

do regular rippetoe workout for 4-5 weeks then add one tricep add on and one bicep for now work on form and get stronger(thats what people her told me)
and eat like a cow make sure you milk the cow to to get maximum calories o and then you can kill and eat the cow for protein!!!!
you could work your abs a little too some decline sit ups and hanging leg raises

im not sure what others have written but im just gonna reply to this
Do same weights for the entire set.
3x115 not increasing weights
-Sore problem
Increase weights if u can manage... if not keep going at it.
-Bigger and stronger
Yes do it on 3 NON consecutive days. You need rest from all the big core exercises.
