Pretty sure I'm Fu<ked
Ok well here is the deal.
I work part-time at a Bar/Grill. Monday when I went into work the door was chained shut and a letter was on the door about no trespassing blah blah blah. Now I went to the bank because payday was last Friday and they say that there are no funds available to cash the check. We are on a two week pay system so the period for my next check is already done. So I need to now what I can do from here because I will have two paychecks that will not go through for a total of over $550. What are my options? What pisses me off is that if I can't do anything I worked for free for a month.
Cliffs
-Work at bar
-Bar gets closed
-Checks won't go through
-am I just plain Fu<ked??
Oh and incase this thread doesn't deliver

You aren't screwed. A business such as that should be covered to pay out their outstanding debts such as payroll.
You can contact your local Chamber of Commerce or a local (if there is one) Better Business Bureau (BBB).

Kinda figured I was ****ed but
I am so pissed that I worked for a month for free
at like 25+ hours a week.
I wish he had a daughter. Now I want to figure out a way to screw him over.

This will only register a complaint against an out of business bar...
Chalk it up as a learning experience? Talk to your co-workers and see if anyone else is in contact with the owners... but your probably out of luck...

After i cleaned up i was shocked!
How dare a business try screwing over its hard-working employees...oh well, at least you can get a job at Wal-Mart.

Depending on the bar owners financial situation, there is some hope but act right away. You didn't say exactly but it sounds like the bar declared bankruptcy. The police locked things down to preserve the creditors colateral. That is a good sign that there are some assets to go after. You and the other employees should contact your state department of labor to see what procedure you need to follow to get the paychecks made good. In most states labor laws state that outstanding payroll be satisfied before the creditors are paid. You should be paid in full before the banks divide up the leftovers. I would recommend that you act quickly since bars tend to be a cash business and assets can be hidden. Also, don't take any banks advice. They are protecting there equity position.
