Lightbulb Calorie Count on home cooked foods

Hi I'm having trouble trying to count some home cooked foods. Is there a good place to get them.

Now that I'm changing my ways to a healthy lifestyle I cook my own food. ButI cooked spaghetti with sauce/ground beef/sausages but it's pretty hard to measure the calories for all of them. Should I add all the calories from the package and divide them to servings? Guesstimate them? I looked into the site but couldn't find any similar thing. It's pretty hard to try to guestimate it too.

How about other home cooked food? Like Steak(though this is easier), tacos, teriyaki beef, etc. etc. is there a good site to have a good guestimate?

Thanks for any help.

Buy a digital scale and weigh each ingredient out. Then weigh the total amount of stuff produced and then weigh your serving. Divide your serving weight by the weight of the total and multiply it by the total amount of calories in the "total". www.nutritiondata.com is a good place to find nutritional values as well as www.fitday.com

I use fitday.com I also eat at mom's everyday for lunch. And yesterday she had spaghetti. It was the tomato, meatless sauce.

I had one cup.

I looked it up on Fitday.com and 1 cup of spaghetti w/ meatless sauce was 229 calories. I have found fitday.com to be the BEST,
and most accurate. I would put your homemade foods on there.

I would also pay attention to the labels on the food you cook. Write them down, and do a decent estimate. MEASURE, measure,
measure. That is how you know, and will ease your conscience.

Good luck. There is a lot more work in counting calories in home-cooked meals.
