3 day binge: a learning experience
After eating clean and counting calories since September of '06, i finally lost it.
Friday: 15 beers, box of milk almond chocolates, some mixed drink, half a chocolate cake, coffee icecream, various pastries. Afterparty beer muchies at the Taco Bell: crunchwrap supreme w/extra sourcream, 1/2Lb potatoe burrito. All or nothing.
Saturday: chocolate covered macadamia nuts and truffles, plate of deep fried potates with cheese. Dinner- buffet, 6 dishes of macaroni&cheese, alfredo pasta, cranberry and blueberry nut muffins, salad, baked potatoe, 2 bowls of soup-chili and gumbo, chocolate icecream with all kinds of toppings.
Sunday: quiznos regular sz chicken sub. Drenched in alfredo and honey mustard sauce. dinner: Dominoes thin crust 1/2 lg hawaiin pizza with ranch dressing. damn its delicious!
While chomping down all this great junk food, i knew i was losing control because i had this all or nothing mentality. This morning after 3 days i weighed in from 175-187. Its interesting because i still have my six pack, and my muscles look alot bigger as well. My bench also went up 10 Lbs. I guess i didnt do very much harm to my body at all, even after eating all that crap.
I learned i dont have to be so anal (nohomo) about what i eat. But to prevent eating this much again, im not going to count calories but just eat well balanced meals, maybe a big mac, taco bell, or pizza once a week just to keep me sane. Well thats my nutritional story.

Lol, I'm surprised it took someone like you this long to figure this out. Personally, I'm still in the process of losing weight and I give myself a 2 day binge every two weeks - and I still manage to lose a ****load of weight.... Then again, I am a long distance runner so that might have something to do with my fast metabolism. Anyways dude, don't be afraid to scarf down everything you want once a month.

i dont regret very much, but my diet has been cutting out all sugars and food items which are really low in fat, high protein, moderate carbs. All the food i ate this past weekend was high in sugars, fats, carbs, and low in protein, which i thought would do alot more damage than 8Lb's, but its great because im still lean and i pretty much ate everything and anything i wanted. It should be illegal to indulge myself like this.
Now im back to the normal boring diet. Do you think i can incorporate a fast food meal 1/day and still lose or maintain weight if it fits my caloric intake? I know how terrible and processed fastfood is but its so good and fast!

You got to give yourself a break every so often man. Don;t let it get you down just go back to work as usual now and call it a learning experience.

1 fast food meal a day obviosuly isnt ideal (but u know this) but if it is fitting within your macro's then you'll still be losing weight. The main issue with fast food every day is that it makes hitting your macro figures very difficult due to the fat/sugar etc that is generally going to be very high in it - also there is issues wrt to the lack of nutrients, but if your conscious of this, and are eating a solid amount of fruit/veg and varied good protein sources for your other meals (which may be difficult due to the macro's being used up with the fast food) then it shouldnt be a huge deal.
If it helps keep on track and HAPPY and you dont go hitting 3 day binges in the future, then it might even be the best bet for you
