Nettle Root extract has Anti-Aromatase components

As most of you now Nettle root extract has prostate benefits since it binds with SHBG. And specificaly (-)-3,4-divanillyltetrahydrofuran, has the highest binding affinity. This is whats in AcTivate from DS. Good job DS! What I don't think most of you knew is other parts of Nettle root extract also kill aromatase.

"In a subsequent series of articles, German researchers have identified a constituent of nettle root known as (-)-3,4-divanillyltetrahydrofuran, whose very high-binding affinity to SHBG they describe as remarkable. These researchers suggest that the beneficial effects of plant lignans (such as found in flaxseed oil) on hormone-dependent cancers may be linked to their binding affinity to SHBG. The most potent known lignans in this respect are constituents of nettle root. In addition to inhibiting SHBG binding, at least six constituents of nettle root inhibit aromatase, reducing conversion of androgens to estrogens (Schottner et al. 1997a, 1997b, 1998)."

Now I don't know what these other 6 "constituents" are, but I hope this is further researched so maybe soon a potent LH increasing, SHBG binding, and Anti-aromatase supplement is sold that incorporates these 6 constituents of nettle. More importantly it will be all natural. The above text is also a very good read about prostate health and cancer so you men might wanna read it and learn a few things cause I sure did.

I had heard this before (I think ALR mentioned it in the Jungle Warfare writeup), interesting article though. Grape seed extract is another herb that many are surprised to learn displays aromatase inhibiting properties, although I'm not sure how strong the AI activity of either of these herbs is - it would be nice to see some Ki values.

Interesting article, good find!

When I get my insurance back I'll be experimenting on myself thoroughly because no one can tell me why I naturally have low test (272 ng/dl). Last time I had complete bloodworm done ALL my values besides total T were normal besides progesterone which also was very low but I don't think that matters. I have manage to raise me total T with supps to around 750 ng/dl, but I had to and still do take an awful lotta pills, albeit all natural stuff (trib, tongkat ali, avena sativa). I really just want something thats all natural and potent enough to allow me to take 3 pills at most/day. I might just have to contract a lab to custom produce it for me, lol.
