If your thinking of buying a gift on feb 14th think again

While this season is supposed to be a time for love and wild acts of romanticism, I get a very different feeling at all of the sights and sounds associated with Valentine's Day; one of nausea.
Valentine's Day, like Christmas, is an invented holiday. Some wiseacre one day was thinking about how to get rich quick so that he could buy beer. He said to himself, "Self, women are always wanting men to buy them things. Men will get into trouble if they don't. So, the best way to make money is to prey on this." Thus, SUCKER ME SEASON was born.
SUCKER ME SEASON( between Dec and May) is still here and wont be over until Tax time. Most guys have come out of pocket paying for gifts on Christmas & is going to do the same for valentines day. You guys have to STOP rewarding BAD BEHAVIOR. Some of these women do deserve ****. Why do you have to give her something on Feb 14th who made that rule. And what do you think will happen if you don’t.

If you have a good woman do it. Yes take care of your woman
But most guys think they have to do something for their woman. But what you guys really don’t get is. YOUR NOT THE ONLY ONE GIVING YOUR WOMAN GIFTS.
If your game is weak, 9 times out of 10 there is another guy trying to work his way in.

Woman: So, honey, what did you get me for Valentine's Day?
Man: I thought that one guy who owned the five and dime made it up for beer money. Yeah, that's right. He's in Rio now.
Woman (crocodile tears in eyes): You mean you didn't care enough about me to buy me a Valentine's gift? I got you one.
Man (on a guilt trip): No, I have it in the barn. I'll get it and I'll be back.
With that, he raced out the door, jumped on his trusty steed, and made a beeline for the store. However, the man was in for somewhat of a surprise when he and his wife exchanged gifts. The man quickly found out, as he did every year after, that while his gift for her was worth about $300 in today's money, her gift to him was worth only about $1.
Being the entrepreneur that he was, the man decided to open a store, and yearly advertise Valentine's Day so that he could afford presents for his wife.
Others followed suit, opening their establishments to compete for the money that came rolling in every year. Soon, it turned into the three-ring circus that we have today.
Maybe it's the fact that I was one of those kids in elementary school who just got nothing more than the three by four cards that you had to buy for everyone in the class while others got huge handmade cards that I hate this holiday. Maybe it's the fact that I got no Valentines in junior high.
While these factors are important, I think that my hate for this holiday goes deeper than painful days gone by. It is the rampant consumer drive behind this holiday that has been present for as long as I can remember.
In elementary school, you were required by your teacher to get Valentines for all 32 of the kids in your class. Too bad that they only come in packs of 30.
In junior high, the hallways were filled with girls laden with balloons, stuffed animals and candy that must have cost a week's salary for these poor young men. These young men, I might add, were left with moths in their wallets and a single card and balloon from their significant other.
In high school it only got much worse. Now the women were holding a dozen roses to go with a dozen mylar balloons and thirty dollar boxes of candy. The guys could carry their gift bags with one hand.
Now that college has come around, things have settled down a bit, but it's still just as disgusting to behold. Instead of buying tons and tons of presents, these guys actually take more than two hours out of their life trying to get the most for what little money they have. What's more, if they have no money, they are still expected to get their significant other a present, even if they have to collect pop bottles.
Valentine's Day is nothing more than some idiot's idea on how to make a quick buck. The fact that it has escalated to the utter fiasco that it is today sickens and disgusts me. It is nice to buy something small that shows you care for your significant other, but the fact that a day has to be assigned for this is plain awful, and the extent it is taken to deplorable. This Valentine's Day, make a statement and don't buy anything.
