getting the look and/or smile while with a group of people

alright, so im gonna list a couple of times this happened.

once, i was walkin back from the auto show in detroit and we were headed to the parking garage and i was with my dad, my friend chris and his dad... i saw this girl with a group of people.. prolly her dad.. grandpa or uncle or something by the looks.. who knows thats just a guess but anyways... when she was about 15ft away i was gettin the look from her then when we passed she smiled at me...

then the other day at school me and two of my friends were walkin to get lunch and this girl by herself was walkin up and when she was getting closer she started to look at me and then when she was like 3 ft away she smiled...

should i have pulled away from the group in these situations and said something or what?? i mean if im by myself and so is the girl i might say something..

yeah but if there in a group how do i pull em away.. it might sounds weird if i was just like hey can i talk to her for a second.. or would it?
