Question Should you wait a day between lifting or just train another body part?

I'm just starting out, and I just finished an upper-body routine at the gym. Now should I wait a day between lifting or just do my lower-body. So many people say wait a day, but others think that its okay as long as it's another body part.

This is the exercises I did today:

DB Squat
Cable Row
DB Curl
Cable Push-Down
Machine Chest Press
DB Shoulder Press

Should I do lower-body tommarow?
I'm to HIT in the mornings (45 min incline walking)

I think consecutive days are fine as long as you don't work the same muscle group.

Beginners should do full body workouts 3x per week. Later on, you can do different body parts on different days. What are called "splits" (split routines).

Do yourself a favor and invest in a basic bodybuilding book. If you ask a bunch of different people, you are going to get different answers and make yourself crazy.

I suggest "Bodybuilding 101" by Robert Wolff phd. It is a good balance of experience and science, and covers everything.
