SUGG:A Week Away From Home, What Would You Eat?
Hi!
I will be away from home next week, and I was wondering if you guys couldn't help me out with my diet a bit.
I am at the stage of bulking up, so a lot of meal are required (I take 6 the way it is now). I'm alway eating, at least every hour (I can eat at work). I eat plenty of vegetables/fruits during the day as well.
Now my problem is, I will be in a hotel with NO fridge or microwave/oven... NOTHING. What can I do if I don't wanna rely on going to restaurant? I though I'd buy fruits/vegetables from a grocery nearby, but what about meat? I planned on bringing like 4-5 tuna cans, peannut butter, protein bars (In addition to my shakes)...
I need something for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. I won't be able to eat much during the day (Meeting), so I'll take my protein bars during that time with a fruit or two. I will also have lunch included during these days, so it's really a question of breakfast and supper.
Do you have any suggestions? Thanks very much!

Do like you mentioned: plan ahead. Bring a ton of storable chicken and protein bars and peanut butter and anything else you can think of. Buy a loaf of wheat bread. Just be prepared.

Take some oat meal and mix it with some rasins and eat it raw with a protein shake. That will give you plenty engery and protein to get you through the morning. Take a plastic bowl and a spoon with you and you can rinse them and re-use them.
I travel often and this works very well.

u could probably buy a mini fridge and return it or even keep it and go to a grocery store and get stuff and still be cheaper than eating out at restaurants. anyway, canned chicken, tuna, snack bars, nuts, granola mix with oats, etc.

I was going to suggest some things.. but you helped me out! Sounds good.. I sometimes travel a lot too and when i do, we work all day in the field (civil engineering/surveying and drilling) and those guys don't like to stop to take lunch breaks.. we usually work from 6:00am-5-6pm straight. So I pack granola bars, fill my camel pak (a small backpack filled with water/gatorade with a drinking tube attacthed.. we used it in the military when i was in).. rasins, pre-made sandwhiches, pb and crackers, ect.
For dinner, I usually find a good chinesse place and get rice and some type of non-fried chicken or egg omlet (prob not the most healthest.. but hey..), or the crew will find a steak or seafood resurant and we will all use our pre-diem to eat out that night.
The hotels we stay at usually has muffins, fresh fruit, juice, and milk to grab on the way out in the mornings for breakfast.
I agree man.. it's not easy eating healthly on the road. Sounds like you have a good plan.. better than mine has been.. thanks for YOUR ideas. Be safe and good luck.

you might doublecheck with the hotel if they don't have fridges to put in your room. they may not have them standard for all rooms, but they may have a few loaner fridges.. people with certain medical conditions need refridgerated medicines and such. you might be pleasantly surprised.
