Getting Ready to Walk Down the Aisle
Hello Everyone
This is officially my first journal. I've decided to have my own journal for various reasons. One being that I'm getting married October 27th so I need to make sure I'm the best I can be on that day!
I'm hoping to find support, ideas and critisism here, and I also just want a place where I can keep track of my goals, my feelings, my struggles and my achievements. I thought this would be the best place.
My ultimate goal is to lose body fat, gain some muscle definition and just feel good about the way I look.
For my smaller, more realistic, more attainable short term goals, I would like to weight train 3 times a week and cardio 2-3 times a week with 1-2 HIIT sessions. I am also working on eating a cleaner diet (which I struggle on quite a bit).
As for my goals outside of the gym, I just want to be more happier in life. Enjoy each moment to it's fullest. I want to be as stress free as I can be during the wedding planning as well.
so I hope that I can have lots of visitors on my thread with lots of help and support, because I need it!

first day to a new me!
Well, today I've been feeling pretty crappy. I have my period and I have pretty bad cramps. I had to take a Mydol.
Tonight after work I want to go home, steam some rice and work out. Tonights work out will be chest and triceps. Once I'm finished working out, I'm going to make chicken chimichangas for supper. I've never made them before, but I'm going to give it a shot.
After supper, we are meeting with a florist to discuss our wedding flowers for the bouquets and for decorations to the hall and church.
Then hopefully after that, it's home to bed. I've been trying to get more sleep to see if that will help with my energy levels.
Well, I'll post my workout and diet tomorrow. I really need to use fitday everyday to see how i'm going. It's just a pain when I'm making my own recipe. I guess that's the cost of looking good though right?

I'm going to do my measurements Sunday, so I'll post them on Monday. but I know I weigh roughly 140lbs. Pictures, well, perhaps I'll do that Sunday as well, we'll see how i feel.
Yesterday for my workout I did the following:
Incline Chest Press with Barbell
1 set of 12 at 30 lbs (killed me)
2 sets of 12 at 20 lbs
I usually do dumbells, 20 lbs each, this is my first time with the bar, so I guess it takes a bit of getting used to
Tricep Press
3 sets of 12 at 25 lbs - easy, need to up weight next week
Incline Chest Flye with Dumbells
3 sets of 12 at 15lb dumbells
One arm Tricep Pulldown - I used my band for this one, on my knees
3 sets of 15 - very easy, need to figure out how to set up my band for a higher resistance
I had to rush through my workout last night since I was running late and had to get out to see the florist. but it was good, my heart rate was up.
Diet:
Cals: 2662 yikes!
Protein: 158g
Carb: 292g
Fat: 101g
here's my excuse. Last night I had a meal planned for dinner but it was so late after we got done with the florist that instead of cooking dinner we decided to go to Swiss Chalet for supper. looks like there was my biggest mistake. Right now I'm trying to eat around 1800 cals. Perhaps I'll consider this my cheat meal for this week and a big eye opener!

goals for today
Today I wasn't planning on working out. I have a facial booked tonight after work but after seeing yesterdays scary diet, perhaps I'll try and squeeze in some HIIT so I don't feel so guilty.
Not sure what to make for dinner. I steamed some rice last night for dinner, so might as well have some of that. and perhaps some fish, or maybe I will make a chicken stir fry.

Yeah! it's Friday!
Good morning!
I'm so glad it's Friday, it's the weekend! Tomorrow we are going to pick up some wine kits, I'm so excited. We are getting up at the crack of dawn so that we can be home early and have a nice quiet evening.
Sunday I'm going bridesmaid dress shopping. this should be a treat. Perhaps I'll try my dress on again too! make sure it still fits! haha
Well, yesterday was an okay day. Got home, did some cardio, 22 mins of HITT with 20 secs high, 40 seconds rest. High speed was 9.0mph. not that fast, but I find that my heart rate doesn't recovery fast enough if I go higher, so I need some conditioning in that area.
as for Diet, well, wasn't as good as I hoped.
Cals: 1909
Protein: 97g - ouch, need to increase that
Carbs: 244g
Fat: 66g
I guess over all it was better than the day before.
I really need to try to be clean this weekend, which will be hard. Tonight I'm going to have the fish I wanted last night, but ended up having chicken chimichangas instead. So I'm aiming for fish and rice tonight.
Tomorrow I want to try a chicken recipe, not sure which one, I have a million.
Sunday, mmmm, maybe i'll make a roast of some sort.
Well, I hope more people check in....
Anyways, have a great weekend!

I guess I should mention the supplements I'm taking as well. Every day I take 3 CLA capsules, 6 green tea capsules, a multivitamin, 5HTP to help me sleep and feel better (just before bed) and 1 tablespoon of flax seed oil when I have a shake for breakfast.
is there anything I should else I should try?

I have a journal, it's called Jodie's Journal.
I am from the country too! I just moved to Toronto in May for a job. It is craziness here. I will live here for probably about 5 years for experience, the opportunitites here are awesome, that's why I took the job.
I remember when my sister got married how crazy busy she was, I had never imagined how much work it would be, and it wasn't even my wedding!!

Hi there,
I lived in Fenwick, near St. Catharines, about 1.5 hours southeast of toronto. I'm a risk consultant. It's hard to explain what I do, but it's a lot of regulatory consulting and some internal audit and CEO/CFO ceritification.
I find it a bit boring though, but the company I work for is great, we just got on the 50 best employers list actually...
What do you do?

Right now I'm a logistics coordinator at an automotive plant. sounds fancy, but isn't really. My dream job is to be a wildlife biologist though!

I'm a firm believer in the idea that we should all chase our dreams. I am a recovering alcohol and addict and recovery has changed my entire perspective on life, on of the main things being don't be afraid to get what you want because life is precious and we need to enjoy every minute of it!

Good Morning
I'm just trying to get ready to go dress shopping, but I thought I would post my measurements that I just took. There are some areas that need improvement for sure! Here it goes!
Biceps: Right relaxed - 11 flexed - 11.5
Left relaxed - 11 flexed 11.5
Chest: 32.75
Waist(at belly button): 29.25
Waist (just below belly button): 32.5
(this is one of my improvement areas)
Hips: 36.75
Butt: 38
Thighs: Right - 22.75 Left - 23
Calves: Right - 14.25 Left - 14.25
Weight - 141.5lbs
Bodyfat - 21.5%
%H2O - 49.5%
I'm using an electronic scale that measures weight, bodyfat and %water. This scale allows you to put in your height, sex, if you are normal or athletic and then takes the reading. I'm sure it's not 100% accurate, but at least it gives me a guideline.
My ultimate goals are to slim down my thighs and my waist. I'd like to get my thighs to 20inches, but i know that's going to be hard.
Well, I'm off shopping now! Have a great Sunday!

Happy monday Sexy Back!
Since you come and write in my journal, I decided to come and take a look at yours! I totally understand how you feel about mondays... It is pretty hard to find the motivation back after a weekend of not so good eating and training... Just think of how beautiful you'll look in your wedding dress with your buff body and I'm sure the motivation will come back!

thanks for visiting! I was so mad yesterday because i wanted to try my dress on again, but they sold it to someone off the rack, where I had to order mine, so I'm sure I paid more! so now I don't know if i'm on track or not.
I think i'm just lacking energy today. Legs take so much out of me, they take days to recover, so I dread doing them. I'm still doing 12-15 reps because I'm scared to lift heavier because I won't be able to walk!

I agree, Leg days are soooo draining. I don't know how some people manage to do cardio after, my legs are usually shaking afterward and then sore for about 3-4 days afterwards, at least I know i worked hard though!
Too bad about your dress! Did you try to buy it off the rack and they said no? How long will you have to wait for yours?

I didn't ask, I figured they would have told me if I could have done that. my bad I guess. but the one on the rack had a bad zipper so i'm glad I got mine ordered. I ordered it January 6th, and they said 4-6 months. I can't wait. And I found the perfect veil! but it's $310!!! eeek!
do you know how I can help my legs recover faster? stretches? glutamine? advil? I want to try heavy, maybe 8-10 reps tonight, but I'm scared! haha

I have been consistently going heavy for about 3 weeks now, and they sure hurt after a while!
I think stretching after you work out is importnat, and I've never taken glutamine, but I think it is meant to speed up recovery. I don't know much about supplements but I do know you can by supplements that are meant to speed up recovery.
I don't recommed pills, just because I don't like them, I think if I am trying to eat clean, that I wouldn't want to take pills. Just a personal opinion though...
I think some pain killer-type pills may also impede muscle growth too, I think I saw a thread on here about that a while back.
