My P-Owned Competition Road: "Like it, or get off it"
I've been training on and off since I was 16. I trained hard when I was in the military and then once I got out I started running marathons. A few years' back I decided I wanted an athletic looking body. After hiring my first trainer he told me I should look into competing for Figure since my dedication and he thought I would be good at it. I hired another trainer who I watched a year prior train girls' for the stage who both placed first. After much deliberation I handed him myself and told him to show me how to get on stage. Many people made many comments like,"Are you sure your going to be ready?", "Why does he have you doing that, that's not right!" and "You shouldn't be doing that." Etc... I was on stage July 15th last year and loved it.
Well we all have to start somewhere and maybe it's not the most optimal place for everyone maybe it's not the best way to go about things.... but in the end it's still a journey and it's part of it. The more I get into woking out and competition training and having the courage to take over my own work-out's the more people try to tear me down saying the same stuff as before. This time trying to prove 'their' opinion is the best and that my opinion is corrupted. Well in order to find out what works and what doesn't I want to experiment with different idea's and come up with my own beliefs based off of facts and idea's, rather then listen to people who develop their beliefs off of other's. I'm not a clone... I never will be. I don't mind advice but don't get offended if I don't take it. I may try it down the road at some point. I do have my PT cert through NSCA, and I am a certified massage therapist and instructor so I do know a thing or two about the body.
My next show is May 12 in Chicago. Many know SBH she is my roomy and yes we work-out together. My other goal is to do fitness modeling and get on the cover of Oxygen one day!!
I will take my own route ideal maybe or maybe not for others'. So if your intent is to tear me down then get back on your own road as this one is
P-Owned!
To the other's I can't wait to interact with you

Welcome!
I loved what you had to say....so very true!!! There are always so many different opinions/approaches.....you just have to be confident and stick with what you believe and know that you are doing the right thing!!!
I wish you the best for your up and coming comp!!! I am also competing (physique/bb) on March 31st (my first time) and it's a great journey!! I am learning a lot about myself and how my body reacts to things.
I would love to see some pics of you on stage from last year!

NOTES =
Started using a Ma Roller 3 days ago to help with my back. Today it's a tad sore. yesterday I woke up sick because I didn't drink water after it. It's the same as a really deep tissue massage. It moves the lymph and metabloic waste around and water is needed to flush it out of the system. I receive about 3 hours of massage a week (being an instructor from students = grading) and this roller after 1, 20 minute session did me in. So I'll keep updating how this thing is working 4 me.

Going to reach my goal today!!!
PHYSICAL THERAPY =
Wed and Fri this week. Ma Roller I did not use yesterday but with massage work on Saturday a huge knot in my longissimus (1 of 3 erectors in the back) finally came out
MASSAGE THERAPY =
Saturday back work was awesome, Sunday I had arm work done. Not my favorite but needed it and the student needed to practice. I will be bruised after that one!!
I have 1 scheduled on Friday, and 2 back to back Saturday morning.
NOTES =
I am so excited cutting has begun!!! Can’t wait to see what I have added and how I’ve changed.
I have a new …. I wouldn’t say goal. Last year I did my show for Bunny and Pam. This morning I have a new found added reason for this show. Besides doing it with the girls and our friendship. I find it is always better to reach a goal by finding an un-selfish objective. So I haven’t quite figured out exactly what this is but it started forming this morning on the tread. It will do with giving part of myself away. Not focusing on my own struggle but relating my own mental and physical issues with other people and what they have gone through. It’s the one goal that seems to assist me every time I take on a trying challenge. So far I have 1 idea in my head.. Very random to I’m sure most people but I think all the time. So in ’94 there was genocide in Rwanda killing over 1 million people called the 100 days of horror. I know your thinking where the heck did that come from… nevermind. I have 97 days till my show. Although I know it’s not the exact 100 days… I feel 97 will do and I will call it 97 days of hope. In doing so I will think of different ways that I can somehow fulfill the time and dedicate my show to helping those that have suffered in one way or another. I don’t know at this point in time how I will go about doing this or what will come about… but we will see
DAILY GOALS =
~1.5 gallons of water
FUBAR LOUNGE =
(Created just for that time when HAVOC breaks loose I can put stuff here….. )
LATEST TAPE MEASUREMENTS =
NOVEMBER 12, 2006 25% BF; 156 lbs ; DECEMBER 17, 2006 26.48%BF 159.8 lbs

...Right Leg:…22.......................22 7/8
...Right Calf:…13..3/4................14
(Latest Pictures Link) I’ll take some of these the day I begin my cut. Uhmmm I’ll post some in 2 weeks for comparisons. I took some random shots just for fat disposition but will have SBT take some real ones at that time.
MAIN GOAL AT THE MOMENT; SECOND FIGURE COMPETITION MAY 12, 2007 WITH 2 FRIENDS INCLUDING SBT

But if you have a spare called determination, an engine called perserverance, insurance called faith, a driver called Jesus, you will make it to a place called success."

O.k. sooo I'm checking my spreadsheets for comparisons from this year and last year so I can report up any differences I see about anything with how my body has transitioned...
14 weeks out Date, day of the week, Weight, and Tantica scale BF measure
APRIL 10 2006 Monday 152.4 30.2
February 5 2007 Monday 169 32.6
The only difference last year I had no cheats the day before everything was taken, this year I did. So some is residual H20 weight.
Going to get calipered soon. Last year I started 29-30% BF according to trainer.
I need to get tape comparisons up, and again I'll do the pictures.. Maybe comparisons with last year as I progress.
I'm so excited....

NOTES =
96 days of hope till my show. So for today I will include a couple picture graphics below… I have an idea of what to do this week. Just haven’t done it yet. Kinda studying and honoring survivors and those who watched in horror as their family members were killed in front of them.
Story:
“Between April and June 1994, an estimated 800,000 Rwandans were killed in the space of 100 days... but the genocide did not kill a million people. They killed one, then another, then another ... day after day, hour after hour, minute by minute. Every minute of the day, someone, somewhere was being murdered, screaming for mercy but receiving none. And the killing went on and on, 10,000 each day, 400 each hour, seven each minute." Excerpt from the publication Genocide, published by Aegis Trust for the Kigali Memorial Centre.
The death list had been prepared in advance. Genocide was instant. Roadblocks sprang up right across the city with militia armed one purpose; to identify and kill Tutsis. Simultaneously house-to-house searches began with the names on the death list the first to be visited and slaughtered in their own homes.
The murderers used machetes, clubs, guns and any blunt tool they could find to inflict as much pain on their victim as possible. No Tutsi was exempt.
The genocidaires often mutilated their victims before killing them. Victims had their tendons cut so they could not run away; they were tied and beaten. They were made to wait helplessly to be clubbed, or cut by machete.
Women were beaten, raped, humiliated, abused and ultimately murdered, often in site of their own families. Children watched in horror as their parents were tortured, beaten and killed in front of their eyes, before their own small bodies were sliced, smashed, abused, pulverised and discarded. The elderly; the pride of Rwandan society, were despised and mercilessly murdered in cold blood.
On occasions, victims were thrown alive down deep latrines and rocks were thrown in one at a time until their screams subsided into silence.
On other occasions, large numbers of victims were thrown down pit latrines. Victims trampled each other to death. The piles were often 10 bodies deep.
For 100 days the streets of the capital city of Kigali ran red with rivers of blood, but no one came to help. There was no international intervention in Rwanda, no expeditionary forces, no coalition of the willing. There was no international aid for Rwanda. For the most part, the world chose to ignore the conflict. News reports, referred to the genocide as “tribal warfare” And instead of causing international outrage, the genocide was written off as another “third world” incident and not worthy of attention. The Rwandan people (excerpt from Hotel Rwanda – the official website)”
