Post Truther445's journey to an IFBB comp before 2011

Pain and gain; not to be sick or anything.
This is something that I can control in my life (size and strength) where so many other things everyone, including myself, cannot control.
The iron doesn’t lie, cheat, or change at the gym. You can push the weight or not. Mental strength along with commitment makes that constant (the weights), or a person, change a non-changing aspect in life--which is that weight, and if you can push it; it is a beautiful thing.
I had very athletic and muscle-bound step brothers that would bet me money to do push ups and always talked about lifting and exercise. Also an old neighbor of mine, like a brother was an inspiration to start doing exercise.
I had a little 7 lb weight and got to the point of doing it 200 times on each arm in a row when I was about 12. I had my first gym set at 14 and would lift in front of pictures of Arnold, Yates, and Wheeler in my room.
High school came with football, gained 25 lbs of muscle. Only got up to 165 lbs. at my max before this new lifting venture the past year, now I weigh in at 190.
4000 cals a day and atleast 300gs of protien a day. Lots of Lamb meat, potatoes, brown rice, eggs whites, whey protein, amino acids, and a whole lot of sleep has mad my dream of 225 a bit more closely in my grasp. I've been lucky enough to be blessed with great genetics; my grandpa is 94 years old and drinks a six pack of beer a day, but also blessed eternally with the bad skin of a 14 year old boy during football season...sucks but that is what tanning beds are for?!
I've been hitting the weights like I didn’t think I was possible of...I leave it all on the gym floor! Most of the time walking out of the gym with a hunched back and a small limp down the stairs to the parking lot.
Tell me what you think about my progress pictures--I am going to start to keep a very strong log about my day schedule, gym routines, and diet here on this forum.

seriously I think you'll be competing by 2009 at the rate you're going.

Current Training Schedule / Protocol – I lift five days a week.

Mon. Lats and lower back, calves
Tues. Chest, forearms and abs
Wend. Shoulders, calves
Thurs. Legs, abs
Fri. Arms, and forearms

I rotate my lifting strategies: two months at three/four sets of 12 reps (80%-85% of ORM), followed by a month of three sets of eight reps (90% ORM), then a month of four sets of 15 (70%-75% ORM), then begin the cycle again with one week of total rest before beginning to incite total recovery.

•Cardio Schedule/Protocol –
I am trying to be in a total anabolic state at all times so I am currently trying to keep my body fat around 10-12% in hopes of gaining the 30lbs. of weight that I need in order to compete at a regional level or more. I do basically no cardio compared to my track and field days. Cardio these days—walking while golfing, warming up for 10 mins. on an elliptical rider before my leg workout, swimming once a month, circuit training during my workouts (giant sets).

Right now I am in my 4 sets of 15 month and damn am I sore--hell, I'm still sore from Thurs. legs; what a change this muscle confussion tecnique does!!
