all those shows are horribly scripted
honestly, who says half of that ****
how about that show with the parents and boyfriend, where they go and have dates with 2 other guys or w/e. the stuff they say to there parents is ridiculous, and the same goes for the parents.
and if that was my girlfriend, i sure as hell would be pissed off if she asked me to do that show.

As long as its profitable, these shows aren't going anywhere.
Of course these shows are scripted. They have to be. It has to be controversial but nothing too controversial. It must tackle "tough issues" on the surface as much as possible. All of this is to maintain an edgy but safe program, so people will keep tuning in. Then after a while, MTV begins to start selling merchandise, hires agents for these girls to milk them dry, gets them interviews to bolster ratings. Its all a giant machine meant for MTV to keep rolling in the fat cash.
Where's the money in music videos or Beavis and Butthead?
