Ask a guy who just got screwed over with his new job anything.
I started looking for a new job after the one I was in started to do my head in. I went through a few interview stages and came out successful and received the letter of offer and was meant to begin my new job on the 1st of December. Once this news had come in, I resigned from my previous employer and finished up last Friday, unfortunately for me, that afternoon, the client of my new employer called an urgent meeting which delayed my start and ended with them closing off the contract and recruiting internally, which no longer provided space for my new role.
Now I have to start the process once again, during the Christmas/New Years break where most companies will not be looking to hire until next year. Although the bonus of this is the fact I now get my first holiday in over a year and I have the funds in my bank to support myself during this time.
Cliffs
- Successful in obtaining a job and letter of offer.
- Resign from current job.
- Meant to start 1st December.
- Job gets delayed due to contract issues with their client on my last day at my old employer.
- Client decides to recruit internally cutting out my employer.
- Jobless.
...Go.

I have no idea, but it sucks. Also, my old employer has filled my spot.

That really sucks but it will definitely feel good to have time off. Whenever I get a couple days off it's like heaven.

Indeed.
Although I have just started a bulk, so I can ensure I get enough rest and eat whenever I want! So I guess that's a bonus?
