Did God punish Adam and EVE for being human?
Why would he do that?

I've asked myself this for a long time. If god didn't want adam and eve to eat the fruit then why did he put it there in the garden to start with? If he didn't want them to eat it he shouldn't have put it there instead of saying, "Don't eat it." Well it's his fault for putting it there to begin with.

God knows everything so he would have known that they would eat the fruit. This makes no sense.

Yes you don't give children a their wrapped Christmas present a day early and tell them "don't open it", and when they do open it you don't kick them out onto the street.

No, that would not be adressing the point woudl it?
I'm asking why God was forcing Adam and Eve to go against their nature?

Did you ever blame your parents for not locking up all candy in the house when you got into trouble for eating it?

And the snake which deceived Eve was just that, a snake. Nothing points out to it being a Satan or something other. God even made it crawl on its belly and eat dirt, doesn't sound like Satan to me.

You should if your parents knew 100% that you would eat it, if they put it there and still did knowing this.

And if they had told you not to do so, beforehand? Then you got into trouble for being weak and disobeying them.

But they knew you would disobey, so why threaten you in the first place if they already knew you would disobey????
You might as well punish the kid before he even takes the candy, considering your omniscient and can tell the future. :|

Like I said in your other "Why does God" threads that you make only to bash him in
Nobody will ever give you the answer your looking for, nobody can tell you how God thinks and no human will ever understand things like this because we are not meant to.
OP u are just as bad as religous ppl who try to shove their views down ppls throats, what your doing is no different then what they do

A more accurate analogy would be this: Your parents set out some candy in your room, tell you not to eat it or you will die (unfortunately you would have no idea what death is), and then leave you alone there. Next your parents allow someone to come and undermine their authority and tell you that you should eat the candy. After you eat the candy, your parents inform you that they are going to kill you, and your children, and your grandchildren and everyone who is of your line until the end of time. Oh and I should mention, your parents knew you would eat the candy before you were ever born.

To a degree, I agree with this. We don't know the answer to these things, all we can do is speculate. You don't know the answer- that's why you've made this thread. If we were 'meant' to understand, then we would
And also agree with that final point; both sides can be as bad as each other. I'm not a religious fanatic- I'm not even religious- but I have a strong belief. However, I don't think I should be one to force my views upon others, as it's not my position to challenge someone's decision with regards to their faith. Likewise, I think that those who have no beliefs should have a great deal of respect for the beliefs of others- a person's faith is something which is incredibly important to them, and challenges towards it can be very offensive and upsetting

Yeah, I hate it when people discuss religion on a forum set up to discuss religion. It's exactly the same thing as someone knocking on your door at 7am to convert you.

You expect us to respect people's childish magical thinking because if we don't we might hurt their feelings or throw them into a temper tantrum? Sorry, but if someone is unable to defend their views in a logical way, then their views deserve no respect at all. Humanity has nothing to gain from desperately holding on to Bronze Age myths.

this isnt discussing anything, OPs made it clear he only makes these threads to bash Christianity, Im not trying to convert anybody at 7am, why should OP try to offend me because of my faith, you cant answer OPs question, you dont know how God thinks, you dont even believe in him but your gonna answer OPs question, how? by bashing what ppl like me believe in, and for what, most of you are atheists anyways, is this a way to make you feel like a better nonbeliever then the next guy, I dont push my faith on you, but your gonna try to push your non belief on me, If the roles were reversed how would you feel, these threads go nowhere just ignorance and hate.
If Op wanted 2 know the answer he wouldnt go on an atheist filled forum, hed go on a Christian website or READ A BIBLE, he just wants to add to the thousands of threads that call us Christians out to defend our faith, yeah you really sound much better then the guy whos knocking on your door at 7am to convert you, does he also beat you with a bible after you tell him no thanks?

What's the harm in letting someone have their beliefs? Are you going to go up to some dying patient in a hospital, praying for the strength they need to face what they know is inevitable and holding on to the faith of a peace and happiness in an afterlife, and say, "nah mate, you're ****ed, he doesn't exist"? Why not let them be comforted by what they do and what they believe, despite whether their belief is bull?

What makes you so great, In what position are you in to say something about someone elses religion, because you dont believe that makes you Judge of Religions, even if i did give you the perfect answer to all your questions, you still wouldnt believe, you arent even really looking for an answer, you dont know what you want, and who are you to say if someone is unable to defend their views they dont deserve respect, Do you know most ppl in this world have believe in a God. Who are you to tell them they are wrong for what they believe in?
you say you wouldnt respect somebody elses belief because you dont believe in it, how does that make you sound, why would I wanna give up my faith to be on your side if this is what you believe in

i do not want religion in my life, its corrupt and rotted to the very center, it promotes homophobism, sexism, slavery, stoning to death, injustice, kiling of non-believers and a huge amount of other horrible things, nowonder the human race is so horrible to each other when we look at the book it's reading from.
