i always thought the only difference in evilness between the Quran and the Bible was that in the Quran it says to kill non-believers and in the bible it doesn't.

lol dude the bible is a seriously wicked document when you actually read it. i can randomly flip to a page in the bible and 9 times out of 10 there will be some passage about killing someone, raping someone, punishing someone, etc.

oh right, i read your op wrong. yeah i think god forces the israeli's to burn any city to the ground that worships a false idol, and to murder all of its inhabitants - childen, men, infants all included. in one passage i believe god told them to spare all the women and kill everyone else including children. i'll leave what the purpose was of sparing only the women up to your imagination.

OP, if you want, I can pull up a bunch of violent, sicko verses for you when I get on my own computer, or you can just go to the skeptic's Bible online. God commanded that they kill anyone who tried to convert them, even if it was a family member. He commanded that they go into other areas and slaughter every man, women and child. Sometimes, they were to take all of their animals and precious metals, and other times, they were to burn it all. Sometimes, they were to enslave everyone instead, and if they said no, they would all die. And other times, they killed everyone except the female virgins which would basically be their sex slaves.

Christians sometimes idiotically defend some of these atrocities by saying that some of them were sacrificing their children to their false god, but I'm sure you can see how absolutely moronic it is to claim that it's justified to kill children for your own god because they were being sacrificed for another.

Holy sh!t, i thought that most of the people God killed were part of a moral story or something, why is it that the more i learn about the bible and God the more i hate them both?

Because Christianity is a violent, narrow minded religion based on a sadistic, egotistical, insecure mad man. I didn't even bring up all of the commandments about stoning your own children for premarital sex, striking or cursing you. Or the ones about stoning people for gathering wood on the sabbath or any number of ridiculous things. Oh, but it's ok though, because that's the OT and they supposedly aren't supposed to do that anymore. That somehow makes it all ok.

You make GREAT points. Question though........in all your years on earth.....have you ever witnessed a Christian who you KNEW was a true Believer act in this manner......like anywhere on the Kenai Peninsula?? Has you Christian mother ever acted in such a manner?

People choose not to follow these things now, although THE BIBLE IS WORD OF GOD so i'm not sure how you can be a Christian and not follow everything in it.

Uh, for centuries, Christians acted quite brutal towards non-believers. Regardless, it's irrelevant to whether or not Christianity is a screwed up religion with a screwed up god. How many Christians actually follow the warm and fuzzy stuff, like love one another, treat others as you want to be treated or don't judge others? Does that mean those things don't count? Whether or not people follow it is irrelevant to whether or not that's part of Christianity and the god they worship. It's funny that when someone points out a Christian partaking in certain sins, other Christians are quick to say "oh, but he's not a real Christian," but when a Christian isn't doing all of the nasty things found in the Bible, it doesn't seem to matter to you. Double standard. The fact is those things are part of your religion - they're found in your holy book and claimed to have been done or commanded by your god. Don't lie. You've been in this forum (and other places) long enough to know that lots of people have a problem with the crazy crap found in the OT. Deutoronomy is OT, Jesus and judging is NT.

God was giving them Israel, and his people couldnt have foreign idols and gods amongst them. If their was a way that God could have given them the land without death, than im sure it would have happened

Christians did not exist during the time in Deuteronomy and aren't bound to Mosaic Law. Our Law is found in the NT.

So you're say Jesus is against his own morals/laws/commands from the OT? Show me any verse in the NT where Jesus condemns his/his father's own massacres or his commands in the OT. It doesn't matter if Jesus justifies it - you're screwed either way. If he justifies it, then your Bible is consistent in that area, but if he condemns it, it shows the Bible to be a contradiction. You lose either way.
