good stuff. i've been trying to tell atheist friends this for a long time now- faith shouldn't have special status. i still think condell's presentation would be even better if he cooly sat back, and never raised his voice, like hitchens, but w/o the drunkenness.
there really is a fine line between aggressively pursuing religion and being firmly defensive against it, as condell says. especially when it pervades everything. the biggest problem i have with ppl saying "why don't you just let them have their beliefs" is that yeah, sure, let them have their beliefs, but if they really believe in it, these beliefs will seep into daily life, which includes politics and society, where it affects ME (and others).
that's the classic problem of liberalism's tolerance (i'm using "liberal" here in the political science sense, as in the liberal political revolution of the 1800s) and secularism.
