Can you drink from the water in your bathroom sink?
Someone told me that the cold water in a bathroom comes from the same source in the house as the cold water in the kitchen. I always assumed that only the kitchen water was safe to drink...?

lol no its safe. Unless there's something special about your kitchen it should all come from the same source. Kitchen, shower, toilet, dish washer, all the same water. (Oh and no this doesnt mean you can drink your fill from teh toilet.)

The original poster is correct. You can't drink the water in the bathroom, but you can drink the water in the kitchen.
The reason is, is the water company actually supplies two different kinds of water, one that you can drink and one you can't. I know it seems really silly to do that, caused you have to run two lines into each house, along with two meters, so it's really expensive. But, trust me it's true.
'tard.

It's safer to drink from the giant porcelain tea cup right next to the bathroom sink. Just drop in a slice of lemon and you're ready to go.

Most people don't really drink the faucet in their bathrooms, thus it is infested with many different varieties of bacteria. Do be careful.

Actually, there's a good reason for what you heard. The plumbing in many houses in the UK (and presumably Eire too) are generally designed so that they will have a direct water supply running to the kitchen from the mains system and a second feed to a cistern in the loft which will supply the rest of the house (ie. bathrooms). If the cistern is poorly maintained and/or the cover is loose it can contain rusty nails, rodents, insects... pretty much anything can fall in there making the water supplied from it less than ideal for drinking.
But obviously the cleanliness of the water will depend on the condition of your cistern.
