Is it just me or are people (in general) getting taller?

I'm 6'1 230 and while i'm moderatly content with my height it seems as if i'm the short person in a group of people (IE going to parties/mall etc) These people are not only taller but they also have an overall bigger body structure than me.

Heck, I went to the middle school my cousin goes to to pick him up and over half the kids I walked past were up to my eye level or just big.

Also, I work in a hospital and while I was waiting in an elevator, a family of "big" people got in with me. The dad was huge and the mom was gigantic. the thing is their daughter (who couldn't have been no older than 14-15) WAS TALLER THAN ME! It was rediculous. Her extremeities were not enlarged so she didn't have giantism, she was just a big girl.

Also one of Nurses that works in the unit just had a baby. It was almost 20lbs.!

What are these people eating?

It's called evolution. Humans (and all other animals and plants) are always evolving.

-better diet (more meat and access different veggies)
-it also MIGHT have be in part due to the horomones they inject in some animals that we eat

thats what I was thinking but wouldn't the hormone be worthless to us (denatured) when it is cooked? I took a genetics class I should know this stuff, but it went right over my head.

I noticed people are tall as hell. I am only 5'9 or 5'10 and every guy towers over me at my high school when I was there. And at my college, all the black guys are tall as heck! I feel so small

Move here, im 5"7 and I find my height pretty average. I have one friend that is 6"4, another that is 6" (But he slouches his shoulders).... The rest are all around my height.

My dad has 7 brothers, only 2 are 6". I dont think humans are getting taller, because in many places it seems as though people are getting shorter... I think it has to do with what part of the world you and your ancestors are from.

Dont be worried about your height, most really tall people look goofy as hell... And are usually really skinny.

I donno I am almost 6'1"..your hight and I am taller than like 80%(guess) of the population where I live. It is pretty rare that people are taller than my hight..and if they are its normally like an inch or two at the most. People 6'4" and above are a pretty rare sight. For example I was tha tallest person where I worked for 3 years..now someone new is there and he is 1" taller than me..

I think you are exxagerating or maybe you perceive yourself as shorter than you really are.

Are you aware I had sex with a guy once (no homo)? It wasn't all what I intended or envisioned. You could say I was experimenting but I think it had to do more with curiosity. You see, I have never been attracted to guys, or at least guys that I see in real life. But for some reason pictures of guys (naked) on the internet always turned me on. I never jacked off to them but it was one of those things where I couldn't look away and gazed at every orphice of their bodies for quite a while before moving on. So to make a long story short, there was a guy my age in one of my classes who was definately gay. He wasn't one of those ones who go around and smoke Virginia Slims gays, but you could tell. He was skinny, wore glasses, had curly hair, kinda dorky, but seemed to take care of himself and was really clean cut. He smelled good and seemed like he took a bath a couple of times a day, was fun and nice and all that. Okay, I'm rambling, haha. So anyways I saw him out at lunch one day at a place called The Terrace. I got to talking to him and we shared a common interest in frequently remodeling our apartments. So we talked and he came over to my place to take a look at what I had just done to my living room, it was pretty cool. After about an hour of David being there he just sort of all of a sudden asked me if I would like to see him naked. It was weird because it was like he read my mind. I did! I didn't want to come off too strong so I shyly replied “sure”. He took off his clothes and sprawled out on the couch. He asked me to come over and he started to take off my clothes. The really weird thing is that he read my mind perfectly. Because I felt uncomfortable kissing, even seemed kind of gross. But I was enamoured with having sex with him. I thought it would be awesome (and it was, YES!). So the next thing I know he is bent over, booty in the air. He says, "take it slow." Needless to say, it was incredible. I won't go into details but it was one of the greatest things I've ever done, but I've never done it since. I wouldn't consider myself gay, but I have always been curious, hahah.
