Help Critique routine
I'm training with a friend/partner who has been a (successful) competative bodybuilder for the past 6 years. He is, in my opinion, a classic over trainer. I've tried to get him to switch to DC training recently in hope that we can gain some mass in the off season, but he wanted to give it up after two days saying that is wasn't enough. Here is the routine he's come up with;
Heavy days will correspond with DC Training with slightly higher volume including some isolation. We will hit heavy days with an A and B schedule where we must continue each session to go up in weight or reps or we have to change the exercise.
Light days will be similar to the way we do arms on the superpump day with slightly less volume(decrease in sets)
Monday: am-heavy back pm-heavy chest, light delts
Tuesday: am-heavy arms pm-heavy quads, light hams, calves
Wed: off
Thurs: am-light back pm-heavy shoulders light chest
Friday: heavy hams, light quads, calves
Saturday: light bi (1 intense tri-dc style but working set will be rest pause to make 30-50 reps)
Sunday: Off
Abs and cardio where we feel the need and have available time (abs 3-4 hard sessions a week)
Can you guys help me find some convincing evidence that we can grow at a fast rate by training less? I'm starting to think he is just a genetic freak and overtraining isn't possible for him
